PWInsider now reports that before the pivot towards Cody vs Orton, early talks within WWE’s creative team explored the idea of ending Cody and Drew’s lengthy feud in a decisive way, with a Hell in a Cell match.

The shift in direction instead allows the promotion to emphasize the deep personal history shared between Rhodes and Orton.

Furthermore, according to the Wrestling Observer’s Daily Update, the promotion is presently intending to keep the Rhodes vs Orton match for the WWE Championship as a singles bout, with no additional challengers expected to be added.

Earlier reports suggested a multi-man match for the Undisputed title, involving names like Orton, Jacob Fatu, and Cody, among others.

Bron Breakker’s WrestleMania status

According to WrestleVotes, uncertainty surrounding Bron Breakker’s injury has delayed final decisions for parts of the WrestleMania 42 lineup. This is reportedly the reason Brock Lesnar is currently working an open challenge angle. If Breakker is cleared to compete, he is expected to face Seth Rollins, which could leave Lesnar to take on LA Knight.

However, if Breakker is unable to wrestle, plans may shift to Lesnar vs Rollins, potentially leaving Knight without a match on the card.

Breakker underwent surgery to repair what was described as a “serious hernia,” and is currently on the road to recovery, with multiple reports echoing the same. Reports have also hinted at a clash between Rollins and Logan Paul if Bron is unable to return in time.

The Bella Twins & NXT Stand & Deliver

Following Brie Bella’s return at the 2026 Royal Rumble, The Bella Twins (Brie & Nikki Bella) reunited on the Royal Rumble fallout show of Raw, setting their sights on the Women’s Tag Team titles. However, since the segment, the duo has been absent from programming.

Now, a report from Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline has provided an update on their absence. The report notes that the Bella Twins’ time away from television isn’t expected to last long, as they are anticipated to return to TV in the near future.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Nikki Bella also confirmed that the Bella Twins will be involved with the upcoming WrestleMania in Las Vegas.

“Officially at WrestleMania, that’s right, In Vegas, and I will say last year’s WrestleMania, I was there. Vegas was unreal. So amazing that we have to do it again, but now The Bellas are going to be in it, so you have to come.”

Bryan Alvarez stated on Wrestling Observer Live that there has been some uncertainty within WWE about which platform NXT’s Stand & Deliver premium live event will ultimately air on, although Peacock was mentioned as a possible destination.
