Cody Rhodes & R Truth segment

The 03/07 episode of Friday Night SmackDown emanated live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Many top stars appeared on the show, including Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Jade Cargill, and many more. 

Fightful Select reports that there was originally a backstage segment featuring Cody Rhodes and R-Truth on the 03/07 SmackDown, but it ended up not airing, and the reason for this is unknown.

Update on Shinsuke Nakamura

On the 03/07 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura defended the title against LA Knight in the main event. Knight emerged victorious as he pinned Nakamura to become the new US Champion.

After the loss, rumors started circulating online over the weekend of Nakamura leaving the Stamford-based promotion, Fightful’s sources stated they hadn’t heard anything to support the credibility of those rumors.

Naomi, Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair segment

According to Fightful Select’s WWE sources, the Bianca Belair/Naomi/Jade Cargill segment from last week’s SmackDown received significant praise backstage. The performances of the talent, as well as the writing, production, and camera work, were all highlighted. Ioannis Fillippides was credited as the writer for the segment, with TJ Wilson handling production.

The three stars were involved in a segment where Bianca Belair demanded answers from Naomi who finally accepted that she was the one who attacked Jade Cargill in November. The segment ended as Cargill darted into the ring and decimated Naomi.

Additionally, despite previous reports of backstage issues involving Cargill, Fightful mentioned that her time on SmackDown last week went smoothly without any incidents.
