After a year-long farewell tour, the 17-time World Champion prepares for his last match, confirmed to be against Gunther, who defeated LA Knight in the tournament finals.
The event will also spotlight NXT talent, with Cody Rhodes set to face Oba Femi following NXT Deadline, and Bayley slated to battle Sol Ruca.
Plus, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee collide with Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater, making this one of WWE’s most stacked cards of the year.
Matches confirmed for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, December 13, 2025
- John Cena vs Gunther – Cena’s final match
- Cody Rhodes (Undisputed WWE Champion) vs Oba Femi (NXT Champion)
- Bayley vs Sol Ruca
- AJ Styles & Dragon Lee vs Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater
John Cena vs Gunther – Cena’s final match
John Cena will step into the ring for the final time at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, facing one of the toughest opponents of his career.
Gunther, a former World Heavyweight Champion, earned the honor and pressure of retiring Cena after winning The Last Time is Now Tournament, a grueling 16-man bracket featuring stars from Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and surprise challengers tied to Cena’s past.
This climactic match closes out Cena’s year-long farewell tour, during which he shockingly turned heel, became a record 17-time world champion, and finally secured the Intercontinental Title to complete his Grand Slam legacy.
Cody Rhodes (Undisputed WWE Champion) vs Oba Femi (NXT Champion)
During the December 5 show, Nick Aldis brought Cody Rhodes into his office, with Ricky Saints and Oba Femi already present.
Cody revealed that whichever one of them won at NXT Deadline would face him on Saturday Night’s Main Event. Femi defeated Saints at the Deadline PLE to capture the title and is now set to battle Rhodes this Saturday.
Bayley vs Sol Ruca
Saturday Night’s Main Event will feature a must-see showdown between Raw’s Bayley and NXT standout Sol Ruca. Bayley, a former NXT icon herself, openly welcomed the chance to face any rising star from the brand, and on the Dec. 5 SmackDown, it was Ruca who boldly stepped forward.
A former NXT Women’s North American Champion and NXT Women’s Speed Champion, Ruca brings explosive athleticism and the crowd-pleasing Sol Snatcher to every appearance.
Now, the question looms: can Bayley prove she remains the gold standard, or will Ruca shock the WWE Universe with the biggest victory of her young career?
AJ Styles & Dragon Lee vs Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater
At Saturday Night’s Main Event, the World Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Dragon Lee step into a high-octane showdown against two of NXT’s fastest-rising stars: Je’Von Evans and current TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater.
Evans has been turning heads with his incredible explosiveness and aerial athleticism, while Slater has built major momentum as one of the most talked-about young champions in wrestling today.
Together, they present a dangerous and unpredictable challenge for the veteran duo. Styles and Dragon Lee will need to bring their absolute best if they hope to fend off NXT’s surging prospects on a massive stage.
