WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is coming after many years

WWE is bringing back one of its most iconic events, Saturday Night’s Main Event, to primetime television after a 16-year hiatus.

This historic comeback will feature a blockbuster main event as Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes defends his title against Kevin Owens in what promises to be a fierce showdown.

The event will air live from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, New York, marking the first Saturday Night’s Main Event under WWE’s new five-year domestic media rights partnership with NBCUniversal.

Fans can tune in to NBC and Peacock to catch all the action, with this being the first of four annual specials as part of the exciting deal. Saturday Night’s Main Event has a rich history, dating back to its debut in 1985.

The show became a staple of WWE programming, featuring legendary matches and moments, before its last broadcast in 2008. Now, the tradition is set to continue, delivering top-tier wrestling entertainment to a new generation of fans.

Here’s the full preview, including the match card, timings & everything you need to know below.

Cody Rhodes (c) vs Kevin Owens – Undisputed WWE Championship

Gunther (c) vs Finn Balor vs Damian Priest – World Heavyweight Championship

Damian Priest has been added to the World Heavyweight Championship match between Gunther and Finn Bálor, making it even more intriguing.

This triple threat fight promises to be high-stakes, with each competitor’s motives and prior conflicts fuelling the action. Gunther will defend his title against two formidable opponents, adding a degree of difficulty to this championship matchup.

Liv Morgan (c) vs Iyo Sky – Women’s World Championship

In another championship battle, Liv Morgan will defend her Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY.

SKY won her championship opportunity by winning a battle royal, and this fight will display both participants’ quickness and talent as they compete for the championship gold.

Sami Zayn vs Drew McIntyre

Adding to the excitement of the highly anticipated Saturday Night’s Main Event revival, Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre are set to clash in a singles match that has fans buzzing.

This intense rivalry reached a boiling point when McIntyre launched a surprise attack on Zayn during a recent episode of Raw. The shocking ambush left Sami Zayn furious, leading him to challenge McIntyre for a one-on-one showdown at this historic event.
