Cody Rhodes made his return at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
In a wild and unpredictable main event, “Main Event” Jey Uso successfully retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul, but not without outside chaos and a blockbuster post-match announcement at Saturday Night’s Main Event, May 2025.
The bout started at a blistering pace, with Logan Paul taking early control by landing a diving blockbuster that forced Uso to roll to the outside in pain. Not letting up, Paul soared through the ropes with a plancha, wiping the champion out at ringside as the show headed into a commercial break.
Back from the break, Uso regained momentum with a pop-up Samoan Drop that earned a close nearfall. With Logan reeling, Jey climbed to the top rope and connected with a big splash, only for the unthinkable to happen.
John Cena tried to ruin wrestling again
John Cena stormed down to the ring and pulled the referee off the count before unloading on Uso with a vicious beatdown. The crowd erupted with boos as Cena continued to stomp the champion into the mat, making his presence and new attitude, loud and clear.
Before things could get further out of hand, Cody Rhodes charged down to make the save. The American Nightmare cleaned house with his signature jabs, drop-down slap, and an emphatic Cross Rhodes on Cena, igniting the crowd.
With Cena down and chaos unfolding, Logan Paul re-entered the ring, wielding his notorious brass knuckles. He swung for Cody, but Rhodes ducked, and Jey Uso caught Logan flush with a spear! Climbing to the top, Uso nailed a second diving splash just as the referee recovered to count the pin.
Winner: Jey Uso retains the WWE World Heavyweight Championship via pinfall
Tag team match set for Money in the Bank 2025
After the match, Cody grabbed a mic and addressed Cena directly. Rhodes declared, “YOU’VE RUINED ENOUGH… WE’LL SEE YOU AT MONEY IN THE BANK!”. He laid down the challenge for Money in the Bank: Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso vs John Cena & Logan Paul in a massive tag team match with high stakes and even higher tensions.
