Liv Morgan might have suffered an injury during the match

The stage was set for an electrifying WWE Women’s World Championship match, with Hall of Famers Tito Santana, Rich Hering, and Jimmy Hart adding a nostalgic flair to ringside.

Iyo Sky entered first flanked by Damage CTRL teammates Dakota Kai and Kairi Sane, though they quickly returned backstage, leaving Sky to face Liv Morgan one-on-one. Morgan accompanied by Raquel Rodriguez and “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, also chose to head to the ring alone.

The retro-style video package highlighting the feud between the two champions built up the tension perfectly. As the bell rang, Liv Morgan immediately took Sky down, but Sky’s athleticism shone as she kipped up and challenged Morgan.

Sky’s handspring maneuvers were countered by a dropkick from Morgan, who followed up with a running back elbow. However, Sky quickly turned the tide with her own dropkick and a flapjack for a near fall.

Sky dominated the early going with a stunning Asai Moonsault to the outside, leaving Morgan struggling to recover as the match went to a break. Returning to action, Sky was firmly in control, delivering double stomps and crisp dropkicks. Her springboard missile dropkick earned her a near fall, but Morgan fought back with a backstabber and a spectacular codebreaker off the second rope for a close two-count.

The intensity only increased as Sky showcased her technical prowess, delivering a trio of German Suplexes, the third with an impressive bridging pin attempt. Sky then climbed to the top rope, but Morgan cut her off. A slip during a springboard attempt briefly cost Sky, and Morgan capitalized with another codebreaker, nearly securing the win.

The match reached its thrilling climax when Sky locked Morgan in a crossface, only for Morgan to roll through. Sky answered with a brutal knee strike and connected with her Bullet Train attack. Sky attempted her signature Over the Moonsault, but Morgan got her knees up just in time. Seizing the moment, Morgan hit Ob-Liv-ion to score the victory and retain the Women’s World Championship!

Liv Morgan-Rhea Ripley face off again

After her win, Morgan was confronted by former World Champion Rhea Ripley, as both stars look destined to meet again in the near future.
