Get to know what happened this Saturday, as we have the complete summary, highlights, results, and winners’ list for the January 24, 2026 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Summary and Highlights
Cody Rhodes vs Jacob Fatu

The bad blood between the two took center stage during the entrance when Fatu attacked Rhodes. What followed was an absolute chaotic brawl as security and officials tried to diffuse the situation. Rhodes and Fatu continued brawling into the crowd stands and backstage, before bringing the brawl back into the arena.
The two momentarily teamed up to take out security before continuing when Drew McIntyre came out, pushing Fatu off the barricade and through a table. The Champion then delivered a low blow to Cody and followed it up with a powerbomb through a table on the other side.
Winner: No-Contest
Grade: A
Match Insights & Moments:
- This was a fantastic way to kick off the show, delivering a clash between two babyfaces while protecting both competitors by avoiding a pinfall loss. The crowd was fully invested from start to finish.
- As reports suggested, the WrestleMania 42 plans for the Undisputed title are likely a triple-threat match between the three.
- Backstage, Cathy Kelley caught up with Drew McIntyre and asked him to explain his actions. McIntyre said it was a statement that if anyone wanted to stand up to him, that was exactly what would happen to them.
RHIYO (Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky) (c) vs The Judgment Day (Liv Morgan & Roxanne Perez) – Women’s Tag Team titles match
In their first title defense, Women’s Tag Team Champions, RHIYO (Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky), took on the number one contenders from the Judgment Day (Liv Morgan & Roxanne Perez). Despite their incredible gameplan, Liv and Perez were unable to get the three-count and had to call in their backup. Raquel Rodriguez arrived, saving the pin for Perez and dumping Rhea on top of the official.
Rodriguez took out both Rhea and Iyo with ease before dumping Iyo back in, when Stephanie Vaquer arrived without the medical boot, making the save. In the closing seconds of the match, Liv hit Oblivion on Iyo, but Rhea tagged herself in and then hit Liv with the Riptide, pinning her to retain the tag titles.
Winner & Still: RHIYO (Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky)
Grade: B+
Match Insights & Moments:
- WWE did a great job of overlapping the Rodriguez-Vaquer feud in the match.
- Ripley missed a spot where she was likely supposed to break the pin, but Iyo was aware enough to kick out at two.
- Despite many fans predicting that RHIYO will lose the title ahead of Mania so they can go their separate ways, WWE is likely to decide against it due to the duo’s massive fan support.
- Giulia and Kiana James are next in line for the tag titles shot, after their win on last week’s SmackDown.
AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura
Ahead of his high-stakes, career-threatening match against Gunther at Royal Rumble, AJ Styles stepped into the ring in Montreal to take on a familiar foe in Shinsuke Nakamura. Both men, while referencing their days in NJPW, put on an absolute classic, with Styles getting the final win to end their singles record at 5-2-2.
Winner: AJ Styles
Grade: A-
Match Insights & Moments:
- Per Michael Cole, the last time Styles wore a mask was 10 years ago January 2016, in NJPW against Nakamura for the IWGP Intercontinental title.
- Cole also mentioned that the first time the two met inside the ring was in 2008 during a tag match, with their first singles encounter coming in 2016 in the aforementioned title match.
- This was an excellent match that brought the long-running rivalry between the two veterans to a close, showcased their NJPW history, and firmly put Styles over heading into the Royal Rumble.

Drew McIntyre attempted to attack Sami after the match, but Zayn ducked and dumped Drew to the outside. Sami then celebrated with the crowd as pyro erupted to close the show.
Winner: Sami Zayn
Grade: A
Match Insights & Moments:
