Zelina Vega defended her US championship at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
The WWE Women’s United States Championship was on the line as Zelina Vega defended her title against Chelsea Green in a fiercely contested bout on Saturday Night’s Main Event, May 2025.
The opening moments saw both competitors feeling each other out until Vega struck first with a stiff back elbow. She followed up with a swift satellite headscissors, sending Green reeling. Vega went for a 619, but Green had it scouted and caught her with a nasty right hand that turned the tide of the match.
Knees were exchanged before the action spilled to the floor, where Green delivered a brutal powerbomb onto the outside. Vega barely beat the count, showing her toughness. Back inside the ring, Chelsea slammed Vega’s face into the mat and locked in a rear chinlock to slow the pace. The champion battled back with a jawbreaker, but Green quickly dropped her again with a devastating big boot.
Green continued her assault with vicious stomps in the corner and attempted a high-risk double-jump Vader Bomb but missed! That gave Zelina the opening she needed. The crowd roared as Vega fired up with a flurry of lariats and a crisp back suplex before kipping up with momentum on her side. She charged in with corner knees, then climbed to the top rope where both women battled for position.
In the end, Vega pulled off a breathtaking avalanche Code Red from the top rope, planting Green hard into the mat for the three-count and the victory.
Winner: Zelina Vega retains the WWE Women’s United States Championship via pinfall.
After the match, Chelsea Green was left bloodied, her nose pouring with blood as medical staff referred to as the “Secret Hervice” attended to her. The broadcast cut to commercial with the situation still developing.
