WWE SmackDown Full Results & Winners (August 09, 2024): Roman Reigns hunts the new Bloodline

Rhodes vs Owens for Bash in Berlin, Escobar becomes #1 Contender for US title, Roman Reigns return to assault Bloodline & much more!!!
The August 09, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is officially over and it is the SummerSlam fall-out episode. WWE has made the show as one of the must seen shows with a number of fresh challengers, #1 Contender matches and the big return of the Original Tribal Chief. Get to know what happened on this week’s WWE SmackDown, as we came out with the detailed summary, highlights, results, winners list and grades for the show.
WWE SmackDown Summary & Highlights
Cody Rhodes, Solo Sikoa & Kevin Owens
‘The Undisputed WWE Champion’ Cody Rhodes kicked-off Friday Night SmackDown and he addresses who his next opponent for Bash in Berlin gonna be. Solo Sikoa interrupted him and said that he should have been the champion, if Roman Reigns didn’t interfere. He claims a rematch, but Cody Rhodes refused saying, that Solo can’t even win the match with the help of Bloodline members. Solo with Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa surrounded the ring, but Kevin Owens with the steel chairs made them retreat.
Cody asked Owens to stay and thanked him for having his back always. He looks to appreciate Owens and give him the Undisputed WWE Championship match at Bash in Berlin. Owens regretted it saying, that he don’t deserve and he haven’t earned the title shot. Cody and the WWE universe knows Owen’s deserves that and the champ walked backstage to convince Aldis for the title match.
WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Qualifying match- A-Town Down Under vs The Street Profits
Angelo Dawkins and Grayson Waller start the match. Theory’s distraction made Waller take control, both with a double team take Dawkins in control. Waller sends Dawkins shoulder first to the corner. Waller took him down with a clothesline and they stand tall. However Ford took Theory with a over the top rope senton, and we go for the commercial break.
After the commercial, Dawkins took both Waller and Theory down to tag Ford. He is fired up and took both with a flap jack and back drop. He jumps from the top rope, but nobody holds. Theory took him with the clothesline. Ford escapes Theory’s move and Waller grabs his legs to take him out. Ford hit a super kick on Waller and Dawkins tossed him to the time keeper’s area with a bulldozer.
Back in the ring Dawkins lifts Theory on the shoulder, and Ford jumped from the top rope to deliver their finisher for the win to qualify for the next round in the #1 Contender’s match.
Backstage
Kevin Owens, Cody Rhodes and Nick Aldis discussed about Owens vs Rhodes match at Bash in Berlin. Owens says that he doesn’t deserve a title shot amd Aldis says if he doesn’t he will give a title shot to Roman Reigns. Owens says that both him and Roman didn’t deserve a titla shot.
He wanted them to find someone who deserve, but Aldis heard the fans and the champ and made Cody Rhodes vs Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Championship official for Bash in Berlin.
Jade Cargill vs Alba Fyre
Alba Fyre with a kick to the leg went for a bear hug, but Jade escapes striking back. Jade Cargill hit her face on turnbuckles, which give Fyre her momentum back. Fyre take Cargill down and then lock her with an innovative offense. Jade escaped to deliver a superkick and a Jaded for the win.
After the match, Blair Davenport and Isla Dawn attacked Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Naomi came for the save and they made the champs and Davenport retreat.
LA Knight
The New United States Champion, LA Knight made his first appearance with the title. He addressed his championship win against Logan Paul at SummerSlam. Knight says that he is the fresh US champ and he made it that way. With title he is a marked man and he is marked since day one. He claims that he cannot be stopped.
Santos Escobar interrupted him and wished Knight for his title win. He said that Knight is not a good fit for the champion, but Escobar is. He looks to take the title from Knight to officially began the Escobar Era, mocking Knight. Knight cuts him and asked to qualify for the title first.

United States Championship #1 Contender’s Match- Andrade vs Santos Escobar
The match began during the commercial. While we get back Live, Andrade takes Santos Escobar down and delivered a over the rope crossbody. Andrade sends Escobar to the ring, and Angel and Berto attacked Andrade, while referee is distracted. However Corbin and Crews took them out.
Despite the distraction, Escobar is still in control. He slows down Andrade with a slam to the knee and stretches his hands. Esobar looks for a double knee to the corner, but Andrade stops him. Both are on the top rope and Andrade delivered the Sunset Flip Powerbomb.
Back after commercial, Andrade takes down Escobar with a couple of takedown and with the running axe handle strike. Escobar looks for the double knees, but Escobar slides out. Andrade delivered a moonsault outside the ring. Inside the ring, he delivered a crossbody for a nearfall. Andrade delivered three Amegos for a nearfall and went for the ropes, but Escobar stops him delivering a poisonrana.
Escobar hit his knee on turnbuckle, but delivered a superkick. Andrade gives it back with a superkick and a double moonsault. Andrade looks for a message, but Carmelo Hayes distracts him. Andrade delivers a back elbow on Escobat and goes for the double knees, but Hayes saves Escobar. Andrade hit his knees on the turnbuckle and Escobar rolls him for the win.
WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Qualifying Match- #DIY vs Pretty Deadly
All the four entered the ring and #DIY took Pretty Deadly down. Elton Prince is sent out and Kitt Wilson is thrown out to fall on his Prince. DIY looks for a suicide dive, but Pretty Deadly stops them. They look to celebrate like DIY, but Gargano amd Ciampa with a slide kick took them down to clebrate, as we go for a commercial break.
After the commercial, Ciampa took both the men of Pretty Deadly down with a corner splash and inverted DDT. Gargano looks to spear Wilson, but he caught him with the knee. They stop, Ciampa from delivering a shatter machine. Wilson delivered a clothesline and tried to pin Gargano, but Ciampa breaks it. DIY delivered a shatter machine and meeting in the middle to pin Wilson and picks up the win.
Roman Reigns return
Solo Sikoa with The Bloodline (Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa) made his way to the ring. Solo wanted the acknowledgment from the WWE Universe, but got booed out. he claimed that he is the Tribal Chief now and if Roman Reigns wants the Ula Fala, he asked him to come and get it.
‘The Original Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns appeared on the entrance ramp. Solo sent Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa to attack him, but Roman took both of them down with the steel steps and walked to the ring to confront Solo.
Roman attacks Solo Sikoa and delivers a Superman Punch. Roman looks to spear Solo, but Tonga Loa saves Solo. The Ula Fala is left in the ring. Roman tries to take it, but Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa attacked him from the back. Solo escapes with the Ula Fala. Roman delivered a superman punch to both Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa and speared Loa.
Roman takes a long run to spear Tama Tonga to break the barricade. He takes a chair to the ring and brutally attacked Loa on his back. Solo stood on the entrance ramp and asks Roman to get the Ula Fala from him. Roman is getting angry and both stare from the distance. With this SmackDown comes to an end.
