Elimination Chamber qualifying matches are underway!
WWE SmackDown is set for a stacked return on Friday, February 13, as the blue brand continues its march toward Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 42.
After a storyline-heavy episode this week, multiple championships and Elimination Chamber qualifying matches are already confirmed, giving next Friday’s show a premium live event–level feel.
With tensions rising across the women’s and men’s divisions alike, WWE SmackDown on SyFy is shaping up to be one of the most consequential episodes of the early WrestleMania season.
Women’s titles take center stage on SmackDown
This week’s episode saw the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan appear alongside Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez, only to be interrupted by WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill and Jordynne Grace.
When the confrontation threatened to spiral, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis booked a tag team main event. Despite visible dysfunction, Grace and Cargill managed to defeat Morgan and Rodriguez after Grace shoved Raquel into her own partner and scored the pinfall.
The issues were far from resolved. Backstage bickering between Grace and Cargill prompted Aldis to announce a WWE Women’s Championship match for next week, with Cargill defending her title against Grace.
The women’s tag division will also be in the spotlight. After successfully defending the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Giulia and Kiana James, champions Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY found themselves confronted by Nia Jax and Lash Legend.
The confrontation stemmed from earlier frustration, as Legend failed to qualify for Elimination Chamber after Tiffany Stratton pinned Chelsea Green. That exchange led Aldis to book another title match, with Ripley and SKY set to defend against Jax and Legend next Friday.
WWE Elimination Chamber qualifiers continue to heat up
Elimination Chamber implications were felt throughout Friday’s show. Tiffany Stratton officially punched her ticket to Chicago, while Randy Orton qualified for the men’s Elimination Chamber for the 10th time in his career.
Next week, two more competitors will earn their way into the unforgiving structure. On the women’s side, Women’s United States Champion Giulia will compete in a triple threat against Zelina Vega and Alexa Bliss, with a Chamber spot at stake.
The men’s qualifier is just as compelling. A frustrated Sami Zayn looks to rebound from his Royal Rumble loss as he faces Jacob Fatu and former WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in a high-stakes triple threat.
With championships on the line and WrestleMania paths beginning to emerge, next week’s SmackDown is positioned as a pivotal chapter on the road to Elimination Chamber.
