WWE SmackDown (March 13, 2026): WrestleMania 42 contract signing between Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton; Jelly Roll returns & more set for next week

SmackDown this week featured the aftermath of Elimination Chamber.
The March 6 edition of Friday Night SmackDown aired live from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The show picked up the build towards WrestleMania 42, with major storylines and feuds taking shape. The show served as the fallout show from the 2026 Elimination Chamber and featured the aftermath of the show
In the first match of the show, Carmelo Hayes defeated El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. to retain the U.S. Title, while Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss defeated Kiana James and Giulia to secure the number one contender spot for the Women’s Tag Team titles.
The newly formed tag team of R-Truth and Damian Priest won the Tag Team Turmoil match to determine the #1 contenders for the WWE Tag Team titles. Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley also met face-to-face for the first time since Rhea secured the title shot against Jade for WrestleMania at the Chamber PLE.
Oba Femi picked up another win over a recently motivated Johnny Gargano, while Cody defeated Drew McIntyre to win in the main event of tonight’s show and capture the Undisputed WWE title once again.
Jelly Roll will return next week to meet Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton
Continuing the build towards WrestleMania 42, WWE announced multiple matches and segments for next week’s show. American music icon, Jelly Roll, is set to return next week, as he announced in a video promo this week.
Jelly Roll announced that he will be live next week to see his tag team partner, Randy Orton, as well as Cody Rhodes.
Speaking of Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, the two are set to sign the contract for their WrestleMania main-event clash for the Undisputed title next week. This will be their first meeting since Orton RKOd Cody to bag the win in the men’s Elimination Chamber match.
Additionally, during a backstage segment this week, Michin confronted Jade Cargill, insisting she was still coming for her pound of flesh. Cargill asked why she had allowed Rhea Ripley to jump the line, and Michin explained that Ripley had earned it. Cargill then said she would see her next week.
WWE later officially announced the match between Jade Cargill and Michin, specifying that the WWE Women’s Championship would not be at stake, making it a non-title singles bout.
The March 13 episode of WWE SmackDown will take place live from the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Tiffany Stratton, Sami Zayn, Jade Cargill, and Jacob Fatu are listed as featured superstars.
