The 02/07 episode of SmackDown is the fallout show from Royal Rumble 2025 PLE

The Stamford-based promotion delivered as promised on the Royal Rumble 2025 PLE, which featured two title matches as well as the traditional men’s and women’s Rumble matches. The PLE also kicked off the road to WrestleMania, with the next stop being the Elimination Chamber PLE.

The build to the PLE has already started with the fallout show of Monday Night Raw and the fallout show of Friday Night SmackDown will follow suit. The 02/07 episode of the Blue brand will emanate live from the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennesse.

The show will continue building towards the Elimination Chamber PLE and will address the developments from the 2025 Royal Rumble PLE including appearances from the winners. Let us now take a look at the confirmed match card and segments for the 02/07 show.

WWE SmackDown confirmed match card & segments

  • Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to appear
  • 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble winner Jey Uso to appear
  • 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair to appear
  • Elimination Chamber Qualifying matches

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to appear

‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes battled his former friend Kevin Owens in a ladder match at the Rumble PLE. Despite tough opposition from Owens Rhodes was able to climb the ladder and capture the Undisputed WWE title and the Winged Eagle title to win the match.

After the Rumble PLE, Jackie Redmond revealed that the American Nightmare is dealing with multiple injuries and will not be attending the post-match presser. Redmond also stated that Rhodes’ ‘in-ring status is up in the air’. However, Redmond clarified that the Champion will appear on this week’s episode of SmackDown.

Jey Uso to appear

Jey Uso shocked everyone when he eliminated the 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena to win the men’s Royal Rumble match in Indianapolis last week. Jey appeared on this week’s episode of Raw where he expressed his gratitude for fans and credited his Rumble victory to the fans and proudly declared that he was headed to the main event of WrestleMania.

During the segment, the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther appeared and berated Jey and said that if Jey chooses him for Mania every week leading to the grandest stage is going to be ‘hell.’

Jey fired back stating that he is tired of everybody telling him what he could and couldn’t do and announced that he would make an appearance on SmackDown to talk to Cody Rhodes. Jey also guaranteed Gunther that whoever he chooses he will walk out of Mania as the WWE Champion.

Charlotte Flair to appear

The 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair will also make an appearance on this week’s show of the Blue brand. Flair too has not yet clarified who she is going to face for WrestleMania, she made an appearance on Raw where Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley pleaded with Flair to pick her for Mania.

However, Flair is adamant on looking at all her options and as announced she made an appearance on the 02/04 episode of NXT. Charlotte will now make an appearance on this week’s show of Blue brand in Memphis and will likely confront Tiffany Stratton.

Elimination Chamber Qualifying matches

The Stamford-based promotion has kicked off building towards the Elimination Chamber 2025 PLE. On this week’s episode of Raw two Elimination Chamber qualifying matches took place in both the divisions where CM Punk defeated Sami Zayn and Liv Morgan defeated Iyo Sky to confirm their spot in their respective chamber matches.

This week’s episode of SmackDown will likely feature more qualifying matches. However, the promotion has not yet announced the participants for the matches, we will update this article once the participants are announced.
