The Stamford-based promotion arrived in Bologna, Italy this week to deliver the 03/21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown emanated live from the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy.

Multiple big names were set for an appearance on last week’s show, including CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Jade Cargill, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, and Jacob Fatu. The show also featured the return of Roman Reigns on SmackDown after his appearance the previous week on Raw, where he ambushed Punk and Rollins.

Get to know what happened this Friday, as we have the complete summary, highlights, results, and winner’s list for the 03/21 episode of WWE SmackDown.

WWE SmackDown Summary and Highlights

Randy Orton & Kevin Owens

Randy Orton went to speak, but Kevin Owens‘ music hit as the Prizefighter made his entrance, with the crowd drowning him in boos. Owens pleaded with Orton to hear him out first, admitting that he was wrong for attacking him and hitting him with the piledriver.

KO explained that while Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn deserved ‘it’, Orton didn’t. Owens revealed that he felt regret and had acted out of anger. He told Orton that he could forgive him for picking Cody’s side and that Orton should forgive him for the attack.

Owens then explained that he was trying to protect Randy from himself, which was why he pulled Carmelo Hayes out of harm’s way last week, saving him from the punt kick to stop the old Randy Orton from returning.

KO floated the idea of him and Orton becoming tag team champions at WrestleMania and pleaded with Orton to forget the past. Orton rejected the idea, stating that he should come out of the ring and beat KO’s a** all over the arena, then told him to shove his offer “you know where.”

The Viper went off on Owens, claiming that KO had now become “Bith Owens, Bitch.” Orton clarified that he was actually glad Owens dropped him on his head because now he heard voices in his head. Randy then challenged Owens for WrestleMania in Las Vegas, saying, “What happens in Las Vegas, stays in Las Vegas!”

Damian Priest & Jimmy Uso vs Drew McIntyre & Shinsuke Nakamura

In the first match of the evening Damian Priest teamed up with Jimmy Uso to battle the team of Drew McIntyre and Shinsuke Nakamura. Priest couldn’t wait any longer as he darted through the ring toward the entrance ramp, crashing into McIntyre, and the brawl was on.

Nakamura quickly joined in, battering Priest with a flurry of strikes. Jimmy then took everyone down with a high-flying suicide dive, leveling the chaos as all hell broke loose. Back inside the ring, the match began as both teams battled for glory.

In the final moments of the match, Jimmy took out McIntyre with a suicide dive, but Nakamura quickly retaliated, dropping Jimmy with a devastating Kinshasa. Priest then leveled Nakamura, landing the South of Heaven before going for the cover. Damian Priest and Jimmy Uso defeated the team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Drew McIntyre.

After the match, McIntyre ambushed Priest, reminding him that every time he will see him, he would come after him. Priest tried to fight back, but Drew continued the brutal beatdown, pounding Damian’s head into the canvas before landing the Claymore to finish the job. The arena erupted with “One more time!” chants as McIntyre continued stalking Priest, delivering a chilling warning.

We get a backstage segment involving LA Knight and Braun Strowman where Knight stated that Jacob Fatu, Solo Sikoa, and Tama Tonga like to work with the numbers and he would keep his eye on the match. Storwman then revealed that he had a conversation with General Manager Nick Aldis and the winner of the clash with Jacob Fatu will get the US title shot against Knight.

Tiffany Stratton & Charlotte Flair – Exclusive Interview

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair were interviewed side by side by Joe Tessitore. Joe asked Tiffany about her aggression last week and her mindset for the title defense. Stratton started to speak, but Charlotte cut her off, declaring that the “Queen speaks first.”

Charlotte and Stratton continued mocking each other as Flair stated that she chose Tiffany because Tiffany thought she could compare herself to her. Tiffany reminded Charlotte that she held the title, while Flair fired back, claiming it was only due to a cash-in and that Stratton was undeserving.

Stratton shot back, reminding Flair that she had been her biggest supporter in the beginning, but once they stepped into the ring, Flair got jealous.

Flair continued mocking Stratton, saying that she was always struggling, to which Stratton retorted by pointing out that the fans were booing Charlotte. Tiffany then cut a promo for their title clash at WrestleMania, reminding Flair that it was “Tiffy time!”

Braun Strowman vs Jacob Fatu

The bell rang as the two giants sized each other up, and the battle was on, with Strowman steamrolling Fatu into the corner. Fatu fired back with multiple shoulder tackles ringside, followed by a running attack, but Strowman retaliated with a tackle of his own. The two rivals continued exchanging brutal shots as Strowman sent Fatu out of the ring, brought him back in, and landed a big boot.

The match raged on as Fatu went for another attack, but Strowman fired back with a devastating slam. Tama Tonga then entered the fray, but Strowman picked him up and went for the attack. Before he could execute, Solo Sikoa emerged, ambushing Strowman and the match was called off.

Fatu looked confused as Sikoa yelled at him to batter Strowman. Fatu attacked, looking to Sikoa for further instructions, and Sikoa yelled again, urging Fatu to deliver more punishment. Strowman tried to fight back, but the numbers game took over.

Suddenly, LA Knight‘s music hit, and he darted into the arena, taking down Tama Tonga. Knight stepped into the ring to handle Sikoa and Fatu, but the numbers game quickly took over once more. That’s when Braun Strowman joined in, taking out both Sikoa and Fatu.

The winner of the match via DQ was Braun Strowman, meaning he would challenge LA Knight for the United States Championship next week!

Backstage

Cathy Kelley was with WWE Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Kelley asked Morgan why she still had an issue with Jade Cargill, especially after their names were cleared with Naomi accepting responsibility for the attack.

Morgan fired back, stating that Cargill had all the time in the world to update her socials but didn’t have enough time to clear their names. She then reminded everyone that she had already beaten Cargill’s partner, Bianca Belair, and would do the same to Jade tonight.

Jacob Fatu was furious, demolishing everything in sight backstage. Solo Sikoa hurried over, pleading with him to calm down. Sikoa tried to reason with Fatu, explaining that he had been trying to help. Fatu fired back, asking who Sikoa was really trying to help—himself. Fatu then shot Sikoa a stern warning, telling him to watch himself, before the segment ended.

Zelina Vega vs Piper Niven

In her conquest of challenger Chelsea Green for the Women’s United States title, Zelina Vega battled Piper Niven in a singles match and despite her size put up an amazing fight while fending off outside interference from Chelsea Green.

Vega came very close to winning the match but in the end, the numbers game took over as Green tried to interfere, Zelina Vega quickly took her down and landed the 619 on Piper Niven but then Alba Fyre attempted to intervene only to eat a kick from Vega, stopping her in her tracks. However, Niven capitalized on the distraction, landing a running crossbody on Vega and picking the win.

Backstage

Jade Cargill was preparing for her clash against Liv Morgan when Cathy Kelley walked in and asked her about the upcoming match. Cargill responded, stating that since Morgan disrespected her, she would teach her a lesson tonight.

She then added that once she was done with Morgan, she would shift her focus to Naomi. Cargill sent a warning to Naomi, telling her that tonight’s match would be a preview of what she would do to her once she was finished with Morgan.

The mysterious vignette aired again on Friday Night SmackDown, and the number 4 appeared as the promo concluded.

Jade Cargill vs Liv Morgan

Jade Cargill returned to in-ring action against Liv Morgan and showcased her strength manhandling Morgan as Raquel Rodriguez tried to support her tag partner. Raquel and Morgan even left the match and went to exit the arena but Cargill brought Liv back into the ring and continued to deliver punishment.

However, Naomi appeared during the match and caused a distraction, allowing Morgan to attempt the Oblivion again, only for Cargill to counter with a slam. Cargill pulled Naomi by her hair, but Naomi fought back, using the title to take down Cargill. Morgan then capitalized, landing the Oblivion, and went for the cover. Liv Morgan defeated Jade Cargill.

After the match, Naomi stepped into the ring and began beating down Cargill. The crowd drowned her in boos, but Naomi ignored the backlash, continuing to deliver the punishment.

Backstage

Cathy Kelley caught up with Drew McIntyre as he was leaving the arena and asked him about the attack on Damian Priest earlier in the show. McIntyre replied, stating that he didn’t start it, but now he would continue the punishment.

He went off on Damian Priest, giving him credit for being as stupid as he was tough. Drew then stated that he would see Priest in London next week. As he began to walk away, he came face-to-face with Seth Rollins.

The Street Profits – Legado Del Fantasma – Pretty Deadly

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins (The Street Profits) stepped into the ring, and the crowd welcomed the new tag champs with excitement. “You deserve it!” chants filled the arena as Ford picked up the mic, hyping up the crowd while flaunting their new tag titles.

Dawkins spoke next, stating that it was about time they won the titles. He recapped their journey over the past four years, a journey filled with self-doubt. Once again, the “You deserve it!” chants roared through the arena as Dawkins and Ford embraced each other in the moment.

Suddenly, Legado Del Fantasma’s music hit, and Santos Escobar walked in, accompanied by Angel and Berto. Escobar picked up the mic and congratulated the Street Profits on finally capturing gold but quickly added that it was too bad their reign would end abruptly.

Santos declared that Angel and Berto were ready to take the titles. Then, Pretty Deadly’s music hit as Kit Wilson and Elton Price walked in, reminding Santos that they were the number one contenders for the tag titles.

Escobar fired back, saying that it was personal between him and the Street Profits, and told Pretty Deadly to step out of it. Ford chimed in, reminding Escobar that Pretty Deadly already had a title shot, but it looked like Santos and his crew were looking for a fight. Dawkins and Ford floated the idea of a clash and rallied the crowd behind them, as officials quickly darted into the ring to prevent things from escalating further.

A vignette aired seemingly confirming Rey Fenix’s arrival in the Stamford-based promotion amid much speculation.

The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs Los Garzas (Angel & Berto)

The tag action was underway as Santos Escobar was keeping a close eye on the action, while the Street Profits took control early Los Garzas with the help of Escobar managed to turn the tide in their favor as they battered Ford and Dawkins.

In the final moments of the match, Dawkins and Angel were the official men as both continued the battle. Dawkins sent Berto flying out of the ring, and as Escobar stepped onto the apron, he ate a punch from Dawkins, who followed up with a suicide dive, taking down all three members of Legado Del Fantasma.

Ford was tagged in and climbed to the top rope, landing a big splash on Angel. He went for the cover, and The Street Profits defeated Los Garzas in an amazing clash!

Backstage

DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) ran into Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince) backstage. Ciampa and Gargano mentioned that Pretty Deadly must be excited to face the Street Profits next week. Ciampa and Gargano floated the idea of a quid pro quo, offering to help Pretty Deadly win the tag titles next week, but in return, they wanted to be next in line for a title shot.

Pretty Deadly initially seemed to agree with the idea, but then mocked Ciampa and Gargano, ultimately turning down the offer. Just then, MCMG (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) entered the scene and reminded DIY of their past betrayal, welcoming them to the back of the line.

Roman Reigns – Seth Rollins – CM Punk

“OTC” chants filled the arena as Paul Heyman handed Roman Reigns the mic. The crowd erupted in chants once again. Reigns picked up the mic and asked the Bologna crowd to acknowledge their Tribal Chief. The “OTC” chants roared through the arena as Reigns professed his love for the crowd. Roman then stated that CM Punk had screwed him at the Royal Rumble, so last week, he returned the favor.

Reigns also reminded everyone that Seth Rollins had tried to kill him at the Royal Rumble PLE, but last week, he also tried to do the same. The “OTC” continued, saying that he was here for at least 15 to 20 minutes and that if anyone wanted to come confront him, they should let him know.

Suddenly, Seth Rollins‘ music hit, and the Visionary stepped into the arena, with the crowd immediately starting to sing his theme song. Rollins stepped into the ring, coming face-to-face with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman. The crowd continued singing Rollins’ theme song as he picked up the mic.

Rollins went off on Reigns, stating that he messed up because he didn’t understand how dangerous CM Punk was. He told Reigns that he should have let him finish Punk when he had the chance. Seth then declared that it had always been about him and Reigns, saying the two of them couldn’t exist in the same space at the same time.

Rollins floated the idea of adding another chapter to their story, just as CM Punk’s music hit. The crowd erupted in “CM Punk” chants as The Second City Saint made his appearance, adding a new layer of tension to the confrontation.

Rollins threw his mic in anger and turned around, just as CM Punk stepped into the ring. The crowd was buzzing as Punk stared down both Reigns and Rollins. Punk picked up the mic and reminded them that his right hand wasn’t taped up to hold the mic, signaling that he was ready for a fight. He then reminded both Reigns and Rollins that they had never been able to beat him without the help of one another.

Punk stated that he didn’t screw Reigns at the Royal Rumble because, in his eyes, it was every man for himself. He also reminded them of the help he had given at Survivor Series 2024 and mentioned the favor that Paul Heyman owed him.

As Reigns turned to face Heyman, Punk seized the opportunity, ambushing Reigns with the mic and raining down a series of punches. Rollins quickly joined in, and the brawl erupted between the three. Reigns, Rollins, and Punk continued to beat each other down, creating chaos in the ring, until security and officials darted in to separate the three.

Punk managed to break free as he climbed onto the announcer’s desk, and called out to both Reigns and Rollins, pointing dramatically toward the WrestleMania sign. Back in the ring, Rollins broke free and started battering Reigns, but security quickly intervened. Punk then dragged Reigns out of the ring and, moments later, Rollins took flight, flatlining everyone with a suicide dive.

As he landed, he pointed to the WrestleMania sign, further escalating the tension. Reigns retaliated by grabbing the steel steps and using them to bash both Punk and Rollins, leaving the crowd in shock. Security and officials desperately pleaded with Reigns to stop. Climbing onto the steps, Reigns pointed toward the WrestleMania sign, cementing his intentions.

The brawl reignited once again as security and officials struggled to control the chaos, but the situation continued to escalate. As the brawl raged on, the show came to a dramatic close, leaving fans wondering what would happen next.
