WWE SmackDown Summary and Highlights
Sami Zayn is officially on SmackDown

Sikoa, along with his MFTs, was in the building to remind everybody that they ran SmackDown. Sikoa recapped how Sami Zayn tried to show up on SmackDown last week, but they showed up on Raw and stomped his a*s. Solo went on stating Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu had also been stomped out and that if anybody wanted to come out…
Sami Zayn’s music hit as he came out to confront Solo. Zayn stepped on the apron and picked up the mic, asking them to take it down a notch and stating that he was there just to talk. Sikoa welcomed him into the ring, giving the floor to Zayn, who pointed towards the MFTs. Solo asked them to leave the ring as Zayn stepped in.
Sami reminded Solo how his potential win over Rusev would have likely gotten him a title shot and how the attack left him furious but also liberated, because the talk about wanting the title had stopped him from doing other things.
Sami thanked Solo and stated that there were many other things he could accomplish, and besides the WWE title, there was one other title he had not held in WWE, the United States title. Sikoa fired back, stating that he wasn’t going to hold it anytime soon and asked Sami to leave the ring.
Zayn then revealed that he was officially on SmackDown and that he was going to take something away from Solo, as Solo had taken something from him. Solo threw down the mic, and the brawl began as Sami retaliated.
The MFTs stepped into the ring and started beating down Sami. Jimmy Uso’s music hit as he darted in to aid Sami. The numbers game soon took over, but Jacob Fatu came in, ducking Talla’s attack and going right after Solo.
Talla came and tried to attack Sami, but was attacked by Sami and Jimmy. The three men managed to send Talla over the top rope. The MFTs retreated as General Manager Nick Adlis appeared, welcoming Zayn to SmackDown and announcing that he would be in the main event that night in a six-man tag team match against the MFTs.

Alexa Bliss vs Piper Niven
In the first match of the show, one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Alexa Bliss, battled the Secret Hervice’s Piper Nive. Charlotte Flair was in Bliss’ corner while Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre cornered Niven, who took control early, but Bliss managed to fight back.
Green and Fyre started interfering when Alexa fought back, but Bliss managed to evade, with a little help from Flair. Bliss rolled up Piper to get the pin and secure the victory. However, after the match, she was attacked by the Green regime. Flair tried to even the odds but fell prey to the numbers game.
Winner: Alexa Bliss

Top Moments & Insights:
- Wade Barrett gave a standing salute to Chelsea Green during the entrance.
- Lilly got a huge pop from the Boston crowd.
- Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton were arguing right in front of Nick Aldis after the match in a backstage segment. Aldis acknowledged Cargill’s desire for a title shot and Stratton’s commitment as a fighting champion, but emphasized there were steps to follow.
- Nia Jax then appeared, adding to the tension and turning it into a three-way dispute. Tiffany, not backing down, told Aldis that if she had to face Nia before Jade, she was fine with that and was ready to bring it.
Melo Don’t Miz (The Miz & Carmelo Hayes) vs Fraxiom (Axiom & Nathan Frazer) – Tag Team match
In their return as a tag team, The Miz and Carmelo Hayes (Melo Don’t Miz) battled former NXT Tag Team Champs, Fraxiom (Axiom & Nathan Frazer). Miz was distracted by Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis’ presnece in the crowd stands during the start of the match.
Blind tag drama ensued between Miz and Hayes, who managed to deliver coherent offense, evading pins. In the final moments of the match, Hayes was about to land the final blow, but Miz tagged himself to land the skull-crushing finale on Frazer to pick up the win.
Winner: Melo Don’t Miz (The Miz & Carmelo Hayes)
Grade: B+
Top Moments & Insights:
- Another frenemy tag team on the SmackDown roster, which somehow works amid the chaos.
- After the match, Tiffany Stratton was walking backstage when Kiana James approached, noting how Jade Cargill and Nia Jax were pushing for another title shot. James offered her protection, but Stratton reminded her that she was the Champion and didn’t need help. James warned that if Tiffany wasn’t with them, she was against them. As Stratton left, Michin appeared and said she had Giulia next.
- Nikki Cross was lurking during the segment and can be seen in the reflection.
Drew McIntyre addresses the attack on Cody Rhodes
Drew McIntyre picked up the mic, saying people had been asking him about the attack all week and that they needed to see the clip again. He asked production to play the clip, and after the replay, McIntyre revealed that he didn’t attack Cody and that the fans’ eyes were lying to them.
Drew asked Joe Tessitore about a medical update, but Joe said there was none, as McIntyre claimed management was protecting their golden boy. Drew said he wanted the WWE title, that he deserved it, had earned it, and wanted it for himself, his family, and for a big paycheck, but Cody needed the title because he was a nobody without it.
Drew reiterated that he didn’t attack Cody but that Rhodes attacked him, then went through all the moves leading to Cody slamming him into the ring post and clearing the announce desk, intending to slam him through it.
McIntyre said he just defended himself and wasn’t the bad guy. If provoked, he would do very violent things, and he was the “real Nightmare.” McIntyre threw the mic and told Cody to get well soon while looking into the camera.

DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tomasso Ciampa) vs Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) – Tag Team match
In his attempt to fix the tag team division, GM Nick Aldis made the match between DIY and Street Profits official last week. The two teams clashed with the hope of getting a title shot. Candice LeRae and B-Fab were in the respective corners.
Despite multiple interferences from LeRae, the Street Profits managed to fight back with little help from B-Fab and pinned Ciampa to secure the win.
Winner: Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford)
Grade: B+
Top Moments & Insights:
- WWE randomly decided to split the team of B-Fab and Michin and reunited the former with the Street Profits.
- They should book B-Fab and Candice in a singles match, giving the two much-deserved TV time.
- Before the match, Byron Saxton interviewed the Street Profits & B-FAB when Solo Sikoa and the MFTs showed up. Solo questioned why they were going after the tag titles, warning that they’d have to get through them first. Angelo Dawkins responded that it didn’t matter how much family they had, they wouldn’t stop them from reaching the titles. Montez Ford added that they wanted the smoke, then walked off, telling them to watch their backs.
- Solo then shouted at a distracted Talla Tonga as the group left, while Erick Rowan was seen lurking in the distance with his giant hammer.
Backstage
Byron Saxton interviewed R-Truth about John Cena’s literal “attitude adjustment.” Truth said he was happy to see his childhood hero return. Aleister Black appeared and asked how Truth felt about his other friend, Damian Priest, noting that with friends like him, one doesn’t need enemies. Truth confronted Black, who told him he would see him next week before leaving.
Meanwhile, Sami Zayn was in the locker room with Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu. Zayn thanked Big Jim and Fatu for having his back. Fatu replied that he hadn’t helped Sami, only his brother, Big Jim. Sami responded that Jimmy was his brother, too, which made Fatu family as well. Jacob told Sami to stay out of his way and left as Solo Sikoa walked out with his MFTs.
Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso & Jacob Fatu vs MFTs (Solo Sikoa, JC Mateo & Tonga Loa) w/Talla Tonga
In the main event of the show, the team of Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu battled Solo Sikoa and his MFT (Tama Tonga and JC Mateo). Talla Tonga was ringisde during the match, the heels took control early and punished Sami, who managed to tag in Fatu, as the crowd erupted as Fatu took everyone out.
Sikoa managed to deliver a splash on Fatu but failed to get the three pin as Jimmy and Fatu took out everyone, including Talla, who had interfered in the match. Zayn ducked Solo’s Samoan spike attempt to deliver the exploder, followed by the helluva kick to pin the United States Champion. Sami and Jey celebrated the win, and Fatu joined in too, embracing Zayn as the show came to an end.
Winner: Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso & Jacob Fatu
Grade: B
Top Moments & Insights:
- WWE accidentally displayed a match graphic featuring Talla Tonga instead of Tama Tonga.
- Except for a few spots, Jimmy Uso spent the majority of the time during the match lying near the barricade after Solo took him out.
- Zayn pinning Solo will continue the storyline, likely culminating in a US title clash between the two.
