WWE SmackDown Results & Winners (August 30, 2024): Nia Jax retains the Women's title

LA Knight retains, Melo defeates Andrade, Bayley returns, Rhodes & Owens come face to face, Nia Jax retains!!!
The August 30, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is officially over and it is the Bash in Berlin go-home show. This is the first ever SmackDown to be held in Germany and WWE has showcased some of the interesting matches and segments including two title defenses. Get to know what happened on this week’s SmackDown, as we came out with the complete summary, results, highlights and winners list.
WWE SmackDown Summary & Hightlights
LA Knight’s United States Championship Open Challenge
LA Knight kicked off Friday Night SmackDown, The Megastar addresses the WWE Universe in Berlin and said what happened last week. Knight says that he defended his US title against Escobar in the US national capital, Washington DC and looks to defend the title against the Germany’s capital Berin. He calls out anyone who thinks is better than him to challenge for the title.
The Germany’s own Ludwig Kaiser addresses Knight’s open challenge. He said that nobody is better than Germany’s own Ludwig Kaiser. He looks to change the US title into European title, when he defeats Knight for the US title. Knight cutted him off saying that he can’t beat him, as the only thing he can do is lay down and Knight pinning him to retain the title.
United States Championship Match- LA Knight (C) vs Ludwig Kaiser
Both lock their head and shoulders and Kaiser locks Knight’s hand, but Knight counters with the arm twist and a takedown. Both push each other and Kaiser with the takedown took Knightdown. Knight escapes and both exchange strikes.
Kaiser with the stomp took Knight to the corner, but Knight fought back with a clothesline. Both took the fight to outside the ring and Knight backdropped him on the apron. Kaiser banged his head on the steel steps and took a long run to kick him on the head to the steel steps.
Kaiser dominated Knight after the commercial, punching him on the face over and over. Knight fighta bacm and both exchange hands. Kaiser chops Knight and kicked him on the face to lay down. Knight took Kaiser outside the ring and banged his head on the announcement table.
Back inside the ring, Knight delivered a neck breaker and delivered an elbow to the gutt from the second rope for a nearfall. Knight continues his domination with the knee strike to the corner, but Kaiser breaks his momentum with a step up enzigiri.
They exchange hands again, but Knight escaped to deliver a slam. Kaiser counters the BFT for a rollup and delivered a Kaiser roll. He is fired up from the crowds chants and looks for the innovative DDT, but Knight breaks it to deliver a side slam and a BFT to retain the United States Championship.
Baron Corbin & Apollo Crews vs Angel & Berto
Apollo Crews and Berto start the match. Crews with a shoulder tackle and a vertical paused suplex took Berto down. He tags Baron Corbin in and Garza got the tag on the other side. Angel and Berto tried to take him down with the two on one attack, but Corbin took him down with the clothesline. Angel took him to their corner.
Corbin escaped them and went on to tag Crews. He is fired up and sends both Berto and Angel outside the ring. With an assist from Corbin, Apollo performed a over the top rope senton to take them down. Berto and Angel delivered a double team slam on Apollo, when we are back after commercial. They go for a back to back ins and take Apollo in control. However he escaped and tagged Corbin in. Corbin got fired up and he took Angel down ad delivered an innovative cutter an Berto, but Angel breaks it.
All the four got involved and they brawl in the middle of the ring, and LDF took control. Corbin chokeslammed Angel to the commentary desk. Elektra Lopez distracts and Escobar took Corbin out smashing his head to the steps. Inside the ring, Crews got victim to the two on one attack and delivered their finisher to pin Crews for the win.
Solo Sikoa
Solo Sikoa appeared on the video vignette. Hey says that the Bloodline will take on #DIY and Street Profits next week. Solo says that he took out Jimmy and Roman Reigns. He also took the Ula Fala to become the Tribal Chief. He now wants the Undisputed WWE title, no matter who wins at Bash in Berlin.
Face off- Cody Rhodes & Kevin Owens
Nick Aldis addressed the WWE Universe and introduced Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes for the final face-off in the middle of the ring. Cody Rhodes addressed the WWE Universe and their upcoming championship defense. Owens addresses what happened at live tour, when he bumped his knee. Cody says that he is doing good. Cody asks Owena why he teased of attacking him last week and he asks about his betrayal track records.
Owens explained it last week and asked why would he be betraying him. He says that he know his dad before he met him. He asks why. Cody says that it might be because he is angry on him, because he gets the praise wherever Owens stepped in before.
Owens asks Cody to come with the 100% condition, as Cody seemingly bothered about his knee. Cody says that his leg is rock solid. Owens said that he won the title eight years ago and he never got the world title shot yet. He looks to beat Rhodes and take the title from him.
Cody asked him to keep the anger, but says that he loves him and wanted to have his friendship after the match. He asks Owens, if they would be friends after the match? Owens drops the mic and whispered in Cody’s ears and walked out of the ring.
Backstage
Baron Corbin was frustrated about the loss. He met Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. They mock him calling the loser. Corbin is pissed off and was close from attacking them. Waller volunterily put Theory into a match with Corbin next week.
Andrade vs Carmelo Hayes
The match began with Andrade firing up strikes on Carmelo Hayes. He sends Melo outside the ring and took Melo with the over the rope spinning crossbody. Back inside the ring, Nelo tries to fightback, but Andradw again took him down and performed a rolling crossbody from the top rope to takedown Hayes.
After the commercial, Andrade delivered a corkscrew and a flying forwarm to take Hayes down. He delivered a moonsault on Hayes for a nearfall. Melo is sat on the ckrner and he goes for the double knees. Hayes counteelrs with First 48 and the double knees to take Andrade down.
Melo looks for a a suplex, but Andrade delivered an Amego and followed it with a powerbomb for a nearfall. Andrade goes for the double knees, but Melo again countered with a suplex. Both are on the second rope and Andrade delivered a Springboard Spanish Fly.
After the commercial, Andrade delivered a moonsault-powerslam from the top rope to Melo for a nearfall. Both chop each other and Andrade with the back elbow took Melo down. Andrade chops and takes Melo to the top rope, but Hayes pulled his knee to hit his face on the exposed turnbuckle, followed by a Nothing but Net to pin Andrade for the win.
WWE Women’s Championship Street Fight- Nia Jax (C) vs Michin
Michin with a Kendo Stick from the backstage cuts a promo saying that no one will forget Michin, when she wins the title. She brought a shopping trolley full of weapons for the Street Fight.
The match began with Michin winging the Kendo sticks on Nia Jax. The champ rolled out and Michin chased her. Jax caught her stick and tried to strike back, but Michin escapes and took Jax down. Michin came outside the ring to take more weapons out. She threw a couple of sticks in and tried to take the table. However Jax took her down and put the table in. Michin took Jax down with the slide kick and takes the table out.
Back after the commercial, Jax took Michin down and sets the table inclined on a turnbuckle. When tried tk take Michin in, she sprayed a fire extinguisher to stop her. Michin delivered a crossbody. Michin took the trash can lid and delivered a DDT on it for a nearfall.
Michin sets another table, but Jax is back and she laid her down. Michin escaped and delivered a powerbomb through the table. Tiffany Stratton ran to the ring and attacked Michin. She looks to cash-in, bur Nia woke up. She pulled Jax over Michin, but she kicked out.
Tiffany tried to deliver the Prettiest Moonsault on Michin, but Bayley made her return and took Stratton away. Inside the ring, Jax delivered a Samoan Drop to break table with Michin. She dumbs the trash can on Michin’s face to deliver the Annihilator through it to pin for the win.
After the match, Jax continued her assault on Michin throwing the broken table, trash can lid, Kendo Stick and everything over her to end this week’s SmackDown.

- LA Knight defeated Ludwig Kaiser by pinfall to retain the United States Championship.
- Angel & Berto defeated Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews by pinfall to win the match.
- Cody Rhodes & Kevin Owens had their final face-off before Bash in Berlin 2024.
- Carmelo hayes defeated Andrade by pincall to win the match.
- Nia Jax defeated Michin by pinfall to retain her WWE Women’s Championship. During the match, Tiffany interfered to cash-in and Bayley made her return to counter Stratton.
