John Cena stepped into the ring to a massive pop from the crowd, picking up the mic and stating that for a long time, WWE was worried about coming out to Montreal because they feared the show would be hijacked, but for him, the audience was the show.

He noted that the noise was deafening, making it hard for him to even hear himself. Cena continued to appreciate the crowd, who responded with chants of their own. He mentioned that after tonight, he had 11 days left on his farewell tour, and he wanted to lead with honesty. Cena admitted that he feared he would let the crowd down, and that after he left and WWE moved on, the fans might forget about him.

He went on to say that he was also scared of Brock Lesnar and didn’t know in what universe he would choose Lesnar as his opponent, but there was no universe in which he would back down from him, despite the fear. Cena added that Brock Lesnar had a ‘John Cena’ problem, and if anyone saw SummerSlam, he wasn’t going down without a fight.

The 17-time Champion then issued a challenge to anyone backstage: “If you want some, come get some.” Logan Paul’s music hit, and he stated that this version of Cena was making him sick. Cena responded by saying that Paul might have made the biggest mistake of his life.

Logan fired back, claiming he had been real from day one and, whether the crowd liked it or not, Cena had said that Logan Paul did WWE better than any professional wrestler, even better than Cena himself. Cena confirmed he had said that, but also called Logan Paul the dumbest person he’d ever seen in his life.

Paul retorted, saying he was the show now, and Cena was turning into a charity case. If Cena was offering a match, he wanted one. Cena asked the crowd if they wanted the match, and when the crowd erupted, Logan floated the idea of facing Cena at Clash in Paris, claiming Montreal didn’t deserve it.

Just then, Drew McIntyre ambushed Cena. Paul and McIntyre began beating down Cena, but Cody Rhodes’ music hit, and the new Champion rushed to the ring. Rhodes and Cena fought off McIntyre and Paul, sending them both over the top rope.

Cena picked up the mic, accepting the clash with Logan at Clash in Paris, then stated that if the two wanted to fight, he might have a partner. Cena then announced a tag team match with himself and Cody Rhodes against McIntyre and Logan Paul for later that night.

Grade: B

Top Moments & Insights:

  • Normally, fans don’t quickly rally behind someone after a face turn, but in John Cena’s case, they’re simply eager to cheer him on throughout the remainder of his retirement tour.
  • John Cena vs Logan Paul is official for Clash in Paris.

MCMG (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) vs Solo Sikoa’s MFT (Talla Tonga & JC Mateo)

5 days removed from the soul-crushing TLC match at SummerSlam 2025, Motor City Machine Gun (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) took on Solo Sikoa’s MFT (Talla Tonga & JC Mateo) in a tag team match. Shelley and Sabin took control of the match with ease, but multiple interferences from Tonga Loa and the unstoppable force of Talla Tonga made sure they couldn’t pin Mateo.

In the final moments when Shelley was on the top rope, Talla pushed him off and then steepd into the ring to take down Sabin with a chokeslam and register a win in the first match of the fallout show.

Winner: Solo Sikoa’s MFT (Talla Tonga & JC Mateo)

Grade: C-

Top Moments & Insights:

  • WWE can’t make up their mind between Solo Sikoa’s MFT or just the MFTs.
  • The match was pretty short, and it was a good thing considering the damage MCMG already took in the TLC match at SummerSlam.
  • After the match, Solo Sikoa said that he is all dressed up in his gear and is ready to fight, but there is nobody back there to fight him. GM Nick Aldis then appeared, stating that since Solo is ready to fight, he has a special guest tonight and then introduced Monteral’s own Sami Zayn.

Solo Sikoa vs Sami Zayn

As announced by General Manager Nick Aldis, Solo Sikoa battled Sami Zayn in an impromptu match and the Montreal crowd was firmly behind Sami, who took control early. However, once again, multiple interferences from the MFTs made sure that Solo got the win. Zayn not only managed to stay in the match but rolled up a Samoan Spike attempt to pin Solo and get the win in his hometown.

Winner: Sami Zayn

Grade: B

Top Moments & Insights:

  • The crowd reception to Sami in his hometown was even louder in many parts that even John Cena.
  • In a backstage segment after the match, Charlotte Flair tells Alexa Bliss that since it’s her birthday tomorrow, she got her a birthday present, and she’ll give it to her in front of everyone
  • A Wyatt Sicks VHS promo aired, where Uncle Howdy promised never to lead the audience astray. Each member took turns saying cryptic phrases while clips of the SummerSlam TLC match played.
  • Backstage, the Street Profits reacted to the promo when DIY approached to chastise them for losing the tag titles and causing Candice LeRae to suffer a painful bruise on her hip in the TLC match. The two teams exchanged heated words, and Nick Aldis intervened, vowing to get the tag division under control, starting with a match between the two teams next week.

Charlotte Flair vs Chelsea Green

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss stepped into the ring to celebrate their title win and Alexa’s birthday. Flair gifted Bliss a doll to be Lilly’s tag team partner, a blonde doll named ‘Charlie’. Chelsea Green interrupted the moment, prompting GM Nick Aldis to announce a match between Charlotte and Chelsea.

After the commercials, the two stars locked horns with Flair taking control early, but Green eventually rallied back. Chelsea asked her Secret Hervice (Piper Niven & Alba Fyre), who were ringside, to bring the massive cake brought in by Flair earlier to celebrate. However, Green ended up face-first into the cake herself as Flair reverted her finisher and locked in the Figure Eight for the win.

Winner: Charlotte Flair

Grade: B-

Top Moments & Insights:

  • Despite cringy and poorly written segments, everything seems to work for Flair since she teamed up with Alexa, as the crowd loves the pairing.
  • The Montreal crowd cheered Chelsea, who stayed true to her persona and mocked them as the chants turned into boos.
  • In a backstage segment, Carmelo Hayes knocked on Nick Aldis’ office when The Miz unexpectedly popped out. Hayes complained that Miz had left him hanging for nearly two months. The A-Lister offered several explanations before telling him he’d secured a match to remind everyone of how great Melo was. Hayes left as Aldis arrived, and Miz followed him into his office to make the match happen.

Backstage

Cathy Kelley interviewed Tiffany Stratton, asking her about her title defense against Jade Cargill and what was next for the WWE Women’s Champion. Stratton stated that her goal was to keep the title and continue defending it.

Jade Cargill then appeared, claiming that Stratton got lucky and that the next time, the story would be different. Stratton fired back, saying that while the story might change, the outcome would remain the same.

Tiffany left as Kiana James entered with Giulia and asked Cathy to leave. James mentioned she had heard Cargill was looking to win the title and handed her business card to Jade. Cargill responded that she would win the title her way, but Kiana asked her to still hold onto the card.

Aleister Black delivered a promo expressing his willingness to use violence to prevent greater evil. Black stated he wasn’t an “eye for an eye” kind of person, but rather “an eye for a life,” which was why he escalated the brutality against Damian Priest.

He went on to say that’s why Priest was at home, nursing a hairline fracture in his jaw. Black added that when someone pushes him, he pushes them off the cliff and waits to hear the smack when they hit the ground.

John Cena & Cody Rhodes vs Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul

Before the match, John Cena was walking backstage when he bumped into Ron ‘R-Truth’ Killings. The two sized each other up, briefly mimicking each other in a mirror routine before Killings excitedly welcomed Cena back, saying that meant they were back together, and hugged him.

Cena joked that he had been worried about Killings changing his hair, becoming mean to people and talking about ruining wrestling, but was glad to have him back. Truth was visibly puzzled as back in the ring, the four stars made the walk for the main event.

Cody and Paul started off the action in the match, which had very little time to begin with. The crowd was loud in wanting Cena inside the ring. After back-and-forth action, Cody tagged in Cena, who delivered the iconic five knuckle shuffle, followed by AA, but McIntyre broke the pin. Rhodes took out McIntyre when Cena went for the finish again, but Logan landed a low blow, ending the match in disqualification.

Cena and Logan continued brawling towards the entrance ramp and backstage, meanwhile Cody and McIntyre fought ringside. McIntyre hit Rhodes with the WWE title and followed it up with a brutal Claymore, sending Rhodes crashing into the announce desk. Drew then made his intentions clear, stating, “I told you, Cody, I wanted you to win cause I’m coming for you!”

Winner: John Cena & Cody Rhodes via DQ

Grade: B

Top Moments & Insights:

  • After Cena vs Paul announcement for Clash in Paris, WWE is likely building for a title clash between Cody and Drew.
  • The build-up to Clash in Paris is very laboured and bad; WWE needs to up its game if it wants to deliver PLEs after PLEs.
