WWE SmackDown Summary and Highlights
Jey Uso – Cody Rhodes
The 2025 men’s Royal Rumble winner stepped into the ring and picked up the mic as he thanked his family and the fans. “You deserve it” chants filled the arena as Jey stated that he was here to pick a champion to main event WrestleMania.
Jey then rallied the crowd to welcome The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes, the Undisputed WWE Champion, who made his entrance in Memphis. Cody stepped into the ring and embraced Jey Uso as the two friends hugged.
Cody and Jey were now face to face as the Champion addressed the Memphis crowd and Jey, stating that he knew what Jey wanted to talk about. Jey stated that he had two choices to make: to stand across from him at the grandest stage, which would mean a lot to him, or he could stand next to him as the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Rhodes stated that it was a difficult choice to make and then revealed the injuries he had suffered in the ladder match against Kevin Owens. Rhodes also revealed that he was immensely proud of Jey winning the Rumble and stated that the choice was for Jey to make for Mania.
The American Nightmare also reflected on their time together as a tag team and stated that he had to win at WrestleMania. If Jey chose him, “let’s make a memory tonight.” Jacob Fatu’s music hit as he walked in, accompanied by Tama Tonga.
Tama Tonga picked up the mic and silenced the crowd as Fatu stated that Rhodes took the title from his family, but as of now, his family needed the title back. Fatu then addressed Jey and stated that if there was anybody who would bring the title back to the family, it wouldn’t be him.
Jey had heard enough as he took out Tonga with a superkick, and the brawl was on as Cody Rhodes collided with Fatu. Fatu took over as he battered Rhodes and went for the hip attack, but Jey intercepted with a superkick, followed by a Cody Cutter by the Undisputed WWE Champion.
Bianca Belair vs Piper Niven – Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match
The bell rang as Belair went right on the attack and landed multiple shots, but Niven slipped under and used Belair’s braid to retaliate and attack the tag champion. Belair fired back as the action moved outside the ring. Niven drove Belair right into the side of the apron, followed by a crossbody and a running senton on the concrete floor.
In the closing moments, Belair bounced Niven’s head off the ring post and went for the KOD again. This time, she was successful as she went for the cover, and Belair defeated Piper. Bianca Belair joined Liv Morgan as the two stars confirmed their spots in the women’s Elimination Chamber match.

Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano (DIY) – WWE Tag Team Champions
The tag champions were inside the ring as Gargano addressed the Memphis crowd, stating that they had defeated the Motor City Machine Guns twice, which meant they were the best tag team in the world. The crowd continued booing as Ciampa picked up the mic and stated that the chances of MCMG holding the tag titles were officially dead.
Ciampa asked the crowd watching at home and the crowd in the arena to stand up, take their hats off, and bow their heads in silence. Pretty Deadly’s music hit as Kit Wilson and Elton Prince walked in. Prince reminded the tag champions how much they had helped them keep the tag titles.
Ciampa interrupted and asked them to keep silent as General Manager Nick Aldis walked in and stated that he was the one who made the decisions. While Pretty Deadly didn’t deserve a title shot right away, they could earn it.
Aldis announced a non-title tag match between Pretty Deadly and DIY. He declared that if Wilson and Prince defeated the tag champions tonight, they would earn a title shot.
DIY vs Pretty Deadly – (If Pretty Deadly wins they will get a title shot against DIY)
Gargano was in control of the match as he battered Prince, who fought back, sending Ciampa out of the ring. Prince tagged in Wilson, who started to batter both Gargano and Ciampa. A clothesline sent Ciampa down.
Wilson tagged in Prince, and the two stars went after the tag champions. Prince hit a springboard on Gargano and went for the cover, but Ciampa broke it up, and the match continued. Prince and Ciampa exchanged brutal shots as Gargano pulled Ciampa by his hair. Ciampa tried to capitalize and rolled Prince up for a cover.

Andrade replied that he did learn how to beat him, and with that, Andrade left. As Cody Rhodes walked in, Miz stated that he would always have his back, as they were both old school.
Rhodes responded that he didn’t need Miz watching his back. Miz then replied, reminding Cody of how he lost his friends because of the title and pointed out that if Jey Uso picks him, would they still be friends? It seemed like Miz had gotten into Cody’s head, as the champion was left lost in thought while Miz walked away.

The two stars were soon back in the ring as the bell rang, and the match was officially underway. Tozawa took control early, taking out Hayes with a dive from the ropes. Tozawa went to the top rope, but Hayes moved out of harm’s way, quickly landing his own offense as he beat down Akira.

Cody Rhodes then walked in and asked Jey how he was feeling about WrestleMania. Jey replied that he wanted to face Cody but also had beef with Gunther and hadn’t decided yet.
Charlotte Flair – Tiffany Stratton

Charlotte recapped her win in the Women’s Royal Rumble match and mentioned that she wanted to get inspired. She said she went to Raw to see if Rhea Ripley inspired her, visited NXT to see if Giulia inspired her, and now she was on SmackDown to see if Tiffany Stratton could inspire her.
Stratton’s music hit as the WWE Women’s Champion made her way to the ring. Tiffany picked up the mic and congratulated Flair, revealing that she was a fan of Charlotte Flair. Stratton then revealed that the promotion was only worried about Flair being injured for a day because Stratton was there to sell out shows.
Flair fired back, stating that Tiffany could only speak when she told her to. Stratton interrupted and pleaded with Flair to pick her for WrestleMania 41. The crowd erupted in “Tiffy Time” chants as Flair stated that when she was in the ring with Rhea, she was a kid, but today, she saw a child in the ring. Charlotte then asked Tiffany to get on her knees and beg Flair to choose her for Mania.
Nia Jax’s music hit as she walked in, accompanied by Candice LeRae. Jax grabbed the mic and stated that she had spoken to General Manager Nick Aldis, and instead of facing five opponents in the Elimination Chamber, she would face just one.

Chelsea interjected, saying, “Not if, when I beat Naomi,” before cutting a promo, stating that she was going to the Elimination Chamber. B-Fab and Michin walked in, mocking Green and warning her about the title.
Zelina Vega then appeared and floated the idea that now that she was on SmackDown, she should get a title shot against Green. She left after making her point. Green then asked Niven for a bigger security cover, to which Niven responded by asking how many people hated her.
