WWE SmackDown Results & Winners (January 10, 2025): Cody Rhodes saves Jimmy Uso, The Bloodline wins, Kevin Owens interferes

Chelsea Green retains, Bayley earns a title shot, MCMG defeats A-Town Down Under & more!
The promotion continued tonight with its regular programming of Friday Night SmackDown after delivering on the historic Raw Netflix premiere. The second episode of the Blue brand in 2025 aired live from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. This also marked the second episode to air for three hours following the transition the previous week.
Two title matches were set for the show along with multiple tag actions, Tiffany Stratton’s title celebration was also set for the show. The promotion also recapped the developments and matches from the Monday Night Raw debut show on Netflix.

WWE SmackDown Summary and Highlights
Wade Barett and Joe Tessitore welcomed the Portland crowd as two title matches were set for the second show of 2025.
Paul Heyman
The Wiseman kicked off that night’s show as he addressed the crowd at the Moda Centre and announced that there was only one reigning, defending, and undisputed tribal chief, and his name was Roman Reigns.
‘OTC’ chants filled the arena as Heyman revealed that Reigns had authorized him to let the fandom know what the path ahead was for him.
Heyman stated that Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was the one person who needed to hear what Reigns had to say and called on the champion.
Cody Rhodes’ music hit as The American Nightmare graced the Moda Centre with his presence.

The American Nightmare stepped into the ring as Heyman lauded Rhodes and stated that he had earned the respect of Roman Reigns.
Heyman acknowledged Rhodes’ incredible reigns and stated that Reigns had asked him to tell Cody to his face that Reigns wanted his title back after reclaiming the Ula Fala.
Heyman then revealed that Reigns would enter the 2025 Royal Rumble PLE and go on to fight Rhodes for the title at the grandest stage.
Rhodes picked up the mic, but before he could utter a word, Kevin Owens appeared from the crowd stands and interrupted Rhodes.
Owens blasted Rhodes for shaking hands with The Rock and now Paul Heyman. KO stated that Cody should have let the Bloodline decimate Roman Reigns. Rhodes had heard enough as he ran towards Owens and jumped the barricade.
The brawl was on as Rhodes and Owens continued fighting, while Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga were inside the ring. Paul Heyman turned to witness Fatu and Tonga staring at him as he pleaded for mercy.
Jimmy Uso darted into the ring and landed a superkick to Jacob Fatu and one for Tama. Jimmy cleared things up for the Wiseman, bringing in a steel chair and taking out Tonga and Fatu.
Fatu fired back, taking out Jimmy despite the attack. Fatu and Tonga were now in control as they brutalized Jimmy. The referee and officials tried to intervene, but Fatu took them out with a brutal kick.
Cody Rhodes came back into the ring and cleared Tama. The champion then collided with Fatu and sent him out of the ring as the two stared at each other. Rhodes saved Jimmy from further punishment as the show rolled into commercials.
Backstage
Back from commercials, WWE security tried to contain Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga as the two stars continued to push back. Fatu yelled at them to think about their lives before they did anything stupid and stated that there was no way they were going anywhere.
LA Knight appeared out of nowhere and pushed Fatu and Tonga outside, closing the door in their faces. He stated that he had a title to win that night as General Manager Nick Aldis smirked at him.
Chelsea Green (c) vs Michin – Women’s US Champion
The bell rang as the challenger got off to a good start, with Michin trying for an early cover on Green. Michin went to the top rope, but Chelsea moved out of harm’s way and fired back, sending Michin onto the floor. She followed it up by sending the challenger into the barricade.
Niven, who was ringside, called on Chelsea to fight back as the champion fired back and went to the top rope. Michin got out of the way and landed her own offense, taking out the champion. Michin then went to the top rope and took out Niven, who tried to intervene.
The challenger was now on the top rope as she landed a crossbody, but Chelsea rolled into the cover. Chelsea pulled Michin by her shorts and pinned the challenger to retain her title. Michin tried to confront Green after the match, but Niven stepped into the ring and attacked Michin.
Backstage
MCMG, Pretty Deadly, and Los Garza continued arguing as the General Manager tried to handle the situation. A-Town Down Under appeared and mocked the tag teams, claiming that they had held the tag titles far longer than all of them combined.
Aldis intervened and stated that since they all had problems with each other, he had an idea. He announced a tag match clash between Los Garzas and Pretty Deadly. Aldis also announced a clash between MCMG and A-Town Down Under, stating that if Theory and Waller wanted a title shot, they needed to prove themselves.
Berto and Angel made their way into the ring, accompanied by Elektra Lopez and Santos Escobar (Legado Del Fantasma). They were set to battle Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) next.
Preety Deadly vs Los Garzas
The two teams started the clash without wasting any time as the bell rang, and Berto began the action against Kit Wilson. The battle between the two teams was mostly controlled by Los Garzas but Preety Deadly rallied back as they looked for the finish.
In the final moments of the match, Prince was in control, but Berto tried to fight back and tag in his partner. Pretty Deadly failed in their attempts as Berto tagged in Angel, and they took back control of the tag match. Angel took out Wilson with a brutal kick, while Wilson called on DIY to aid them in their match.
Elektra Lopez distracted the referee as Santos Escobar pushed Wilson, who was on the top rope. Berto and Angel landed the double press on Prince to pick up the win in the second match of the evening.
Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs LA Knight – United States Championship
The bell rang as the US title match was underway, with Nakamura and Knight sizing each other up before colliding in the middle of the ring. Knight and Nakamura continued the battle as the challenger thwarted every sneaky mind game from the champion. Nakamura took control of the match, brutalizing the challenger and targeting his lower leg.
Nakamura landed a running knee on Knight, who was lying on top of the ring. The champion tried to attack again, but Knight fought back, sending Nakamura out of the ring. Knight followed it up by bouncing Nakamura’s head off the announce table. The action was inside the ring for only a moment before Knight again sent the champion outside the ring.
Knight went for the slam, but Shinsuke ducked and pushed Knight into the ring post. Nakamura and Knight traded shots in the middle of the ring, with Knight taking over the match. Knight landed a stunning elbow and went for the cover, but Nakamura kicked out at two. Knight locked in a submission on the champion, but Nakamura tried to reach the ropes.
Knight went for another submission, but Nakamura locked in the armbar. Knight rolled him up, and the two stars continued exchanging shots. Nakamura finally landed the Kinshasa and went for the cover, but Knight placed his leg on the bottom rope to break the count.
Nakamura put Knight on the exposed turnbuckle, but Knight ducked, causing Nakamura’s leg to crash into the exposed turnbuckle. The challenger followed it up by landing the BFT but was unable to go for the pin immediately due to exhaustion.
Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu appeared and attacked Knight, causing the disqualification. Fatu and Tonga brutalized Knight as Fatu landed a moonsault onto the former champion from the top rope.
Cody Rhodes and Jimmy Uso darted into the ring for the save, attacking Fatu and Tonga and taking them out. Rhodes picked up the mic and asked General Manager Nick Aldis not to send Tonga and Fatu home.
The American Nightmare floated the idea of a matchup between Rhodes and Jimmy against Fatu and Tonga that night. Nick Aldis obliged to the champion’s demands and made the match official for that night.
MCMG vs A-Town Down Under
The bell rang as Waller and Shelley started the tag action. Waller tagged in Theory and took out Sabin ringside. Theory continued beating on Shelley, who fought back and tagged in Sabin without Theory even realizing it.
MCMG was now in control, double-teaming and taking out Theory and Waller. Sabin went for the suicide dive on Waller, but Theory grabbed his leg, causing Sabin to crash onto the mat. Waller then got Shelley from behind.
In the closing moments, Sabin and Waller continued the match as Waller tagged in Theory and attacked Sabin, who pulled the rope, causing Waller to roll out of the ring.
Sabin and Shelley double-teamed again, taking out Waller and shifting their focus to Theory, landing the Skull and Bones. Shelley went for the cover, One, Two, Three!! Motor City Machine Guns won the tag team battle against A-Town Down Under.
Backstage
DIY were backstage, clearly irked by Motor City Machine Guns’ win. Pretty Deadly walked in and asked why Ciampa and Gargano didn’t save them during their clash earlier against Los Garzas.
Wilson quoted them, saying, “What happened to ‘We scratch your back, you scratch ours’?” Ciampa fired back, stating that they didn’t need their help last week.
Johnny Gargano tried to calm the situation, telling them that they would definitely get their title shot, saying, “We got you guys!”
Apollo Crews then walked in, stating that if Pretty Deadly was dumb enough to believe everything DIY said, then they deserved whatever was coming their way, and it wouldn’t be the tag titles. Pretty Deadly mocked Crews as the segment ended.
Nia Jax was in the locker room when Candice LeRae walked in, informing the former champion that Tiffany Stratton was going to the ring.
Jax responded, wondering what Stratton would say. The former champion then suggested that she should go congratulate Stratton on her title win herself.
Tiffany Stratton
Byron Saxton interviewed Tiffany Stratton, recapping the action from last week and congratulating the new champion. Stratton thanked Saxton and stated that she was already better than the crowd favorites.
Saxton asked her about Nia Jax’s bullying, but Tiffany grabbed the mic and revealed that she had befriended Jax just for the title. She explained that Jax let her guard down, which allowed her to cash in and win the title. Nia Jax’s music then hit as the former champion made her way to the ring with a mic in her hand.

Nia Jax picked up the mic and tore into Tiffany Stratton, stating that she would be nothing without her, saying, “I made you!” Nia continued mocking the new champion as she made her way into the ring, mockingly repeating, “It’s Tiffy time.”
Nia then stated that her time was up and demanded the title back, threatening that if Stratton didn’t oblige, she would take it back.
Bayley’s music hit as the Grand Slam Champion appeared, mocking Jax for being outsmarted by Stratton. Bayley reminded both women that if anyone should have the title back, it should be her.
Naomi and Bianca Belair then appeared, with Naomi reminding everyone that she had almost defeated Jax last week if it weren’t for Stratton.
Jax fired back, stating that nobody cared about Naomi. She locked eyes with Belair and Naomi before headbutting both of them. A brawl broke out as Naomi, Belair, Jax, and Bayley continued fighting each other.
Stratton then took everyone out with the prettiest moonsault ever, flaunting her title in front of the crowd. General Manager Nick Aldis appeared, stating that he had an idea after seeing the four women argue for the title.
Aldis announced that Naomi, Belair, Jax, and Bayley would clash in a Fatal-4-Way match for the #1 Contender spot, and the match would happen right now.
Nia Jax vs Bayley vs Bianca Belair vs Naomi – #1 Contenders Match for the WWE Women’s Title
Back from commercials, the match was underway as Jax thwarted the attacks from Belair and Naomi, landing her own offense.
Bayley tried to battle Jax, but Jax fought back. Belair and Naomi joined hands to battle the former champion. Bayley and Belair then battled each other, taking care of Jax. Belair rolled up Bayley into a cover, but Bayley returned the favor.
Jax stepped into the ring and took out Bayley, but Naomi fought back, taking out the champion and landing a moonsault into the cover. Jax kicked out at two. Bayley landed a flying elbow on Jax and went for the cover. Belair landed the 450 splash and went for the cover, but Bayley interfered.
Candice LeRae ran into the ring to check on Nia Jax, who was near the announcer’s desk. Belair and Naomi teamed up to take care of Bayley. The tag champs then came face to face with each other, with Belair pointing to take out the two challengers.
Belair took out Bayley with a suicide dive. Naomi tried the same, but Jax caught her and slammed her onto the ring. The four women continued battling, landing shots and trying for pinfalls, only for the other to break the cover. The action continued as Bayley kicked out at two, breaking Belair’s cover.
Belair picked up Bayley for a KOD, but Candice LeRae pulled her hair, causing Belair to hit Naomi. Belair fought back against LeRae as Jax stepped in. Belair pushed Jax toward the announcer’s desk, causing both women to crash.
Bayley then rose and planted Naomi, going for the cover. Bayley was declared the #1 Contender for the WWE Women’s Championship.
Backstage
Cody Rhodes and Jimmy Uso were backstage, discussing Roman Reigns’ challenge to Rhodes. Cody stated that he knew it was coming and was focused on tonight’s clash. Rhodes and Jimmy nodded in agreement as Rhodes left.
Carmelo Hayes then walked in and confronted Jimmy for ganging up on him last week with Jey Uso and Sami Zayn. Hayes warned Jimmy not to mess with him, saying he was close with Solo Sikoa or he would meet the same fate as Braun Strowman.
Jimmy continued to mock Hayes, stating, “With all them bricks, you could build a damn house!” Jimmy ended the segment by doing the “Yeet!”
Byron Saxton interviews Bayley backstage, as he informs Bayley that the match against Tiffany Stratton for the title will be next week.
Bayley states that she has grown up in this business and she is ready to fight anywhere as she did tonight after Nick Aldis made the fatal-4-way official. Bayley ends the segment by reminding everyone that Stratton has been unable to beat her.
Cody Rhodes & Jimmy Uso vs Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga
Cody Rhodes and Tama Tonga started the action in the main event as the bell rang. Rhodes took control of the match, beating down Tonga while staring at Fatu. Jimmy became the official man as Tonga fought back and tagged in Fatu.
Fatu started beating Jimmy, who fought back with a right uppercut and took out Tonga. Back from commercials, The Bloodline was in control as Tonga knocked Rhodes off the apron and shifted his focus to Jimmy Uso.
Rhodes rallied the crowd behind Jimmy, who fought back, but Tonga tagged in Fatu, who took out Rhodes and continued attacking Jimmy. Fatu was now on the second rope, beating down Jimmy and doing the “I Love You Solo!” gesture.
Jimmy fought back, taking out Fatu from the top rope. Fatu and Jimmy tagged in their respective tag partners, with Rhodes darting in and attacking Tonga. Rhodes then took out Fatu and Tonga outside the ring with a suicide dive.
The American Nightmare continued beating down Tonga and thwarted Fatu, who tried to interfere. Tonga capitalized on the distraction, landing a DDT on Rhodes and going for the cover. Rhodes responded with a superplex from the top rope on Tonga as Jimmy landed a Cody Cutter on Fatu.
Jimmy followed it up by taking out Fatu with a suicide dive. Kevin Owens appeared as Rhodes rushed outside to take care of KO, and the brawl began again. Inside the ring, Jimmy landed a spear and went to the top rope to land a Uso splash. He went for the cover, but Fatu pulled Jimmy outside the ring and tagged himself in.
Fatu bounced Jimmy’s head off the announce table and landed a DDT on him, following it up with a moonsault from the top rope to pick up the win in the main event.
Rhodes and Owens continued fighting after the match near the production area. The two stars battled fiercely, with Rhodes tackling Owens right through two tables near the production equipment.
Friday Night SmackDown came to an end as security and officials rushed to check on both Rhodes and Owens, ensuring their safety after the brutal confrontation.
