This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown emanated live from the Olimpic Arena in Barcelona, Spain. The show featured appearances from multiple top stars including Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, The Miz, Randy Orton, Charlotte Flair and more.

The promotion announced multiple matches for the show, including the in-ring return of Charlotte Flair and Randy Orton along with a Tag Title clash between DIY (c) and Street Profits. Get to know what happened this Friday, as we have the complete summary, highlights, results, and winner’s list for the 03/14 episode of WWE SmackDown.

WWE SmackDown Summary and Highlights

Jimmy Uso, Braun Strowman, & LA Knight vs Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga

LA Knight kicked off the show as Barcelona fans welcomed the star in style. Jimmy Uso soon appeared and stated that he knew the only way to get his road to WrestleMania was to challenge Knight for the United States title. Solo Sikoa walked in and stated that Jacob Fatu deserves the opportunity and mocked Jimmy who reminded him of losing to Roman Reigns in the tribal combat match.

This angered Sikoa and the faction as they rushed into the ring to batter Jimmy and Knight, who were aided as Braun Strowman came out to even the odds. The six-man tag match was made official as the two teams battled in the Olimpic Arena.

In the end, Knight, Jimmy, and Knight picked up the win against Sikoa, Fatu, and Tonga as Strowman pinned Tonga after landing the running powerslam. After the match, Fatu attacked Strowman as Fatu and Tonga took care of Jimmy and Knight.

Fatu then stepped in the ring to batter Strowman and landed multiple moonsaults to batter the monster. Fatu comes back again after retreating initially as he takes out Strowman through the barricade.

Jade Cargill

A video promo aired recapping the events that led to the revelation that Naomi was the one who attacked Jade Cargill backstage in November. In an empty arena, Jade Cargill sat down for an interview to discuss the recent revelation that Naomi had attacked her months ago, leading to the fallout between the former best friends.

Jade admitted she was fine physically, but emotionally, it was a different story. She expressed her anger over Naomi portraying herself as the victim and accusing Jade of using others’ success for her own benefit. When asked about the attack, Jade recalled remembering very little, aside from seeing Naomi running away from the scene. As she continued to address the situation, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez interrupted, mocking her.

Cargill warned them that it was not the time and stated that they were lucky that they had the tag titles. Things escalated before Cargill challenged Morgan to a match next week. Morgan accepted, taunting Jade to avoid getting dropped on any cars in the meantime.

Charlotte Flair vs B-Fab

Following their disagreement backstage on last week’s show, Charlotte Flair battled B-Fab in a singles match. Flair was looking to prove that she is still “The Queen” while B-Fab wanted to show how much the competition has evolved since Flair was away.

Flair was in control for the majority of the match as B-Fab tried to fight back but crumbled in front of the 14-time WWE World Champion. In the final moments of the match, Flair landed the Natural Selection followed by the Figure Eight to pick up the win via submission. However, she refused to let go of the hold even after the match ended.

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton appeared as they kicked off a brawl where security and officials rushed in shortly to diffuse the situation. The brawl quickly resumed, spilling to the floor outside as staff rushed in to break it up once again.

Officials pulled Flair away, escorting her up the ramp, but Stratton wasn’t finished. She climbed to the top rope and launched herself at Flair in retaliation. Now, it was Stratton being pulled away up the ramp as the chaos finally, finally came to an end.

Miz TV with special guest Cody Rhodes

The Miz came out and started making an introduction, but the brawl between Flair and Tiffany spilled back into the arena as security once again tried to get things under control. The Miz then tried to take credit for how awesome the moment was and then introduces his guest the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

Rhodes made his entrance as the Barcelona crowd rallied behind the champion, Cody stepped into the ring as The Miz cut it all off, stating that he doesn’t have time for a sing-along with Rhodes. However, Cody was also not here for an interview as he lays down Miz with a palm strike and a Cross Rhodes. The champion grabbed the mic, making it clear that the only person he wanted to talk to was John Cena.

Backstage

Shinsuke Nakamura was with General Manager Nick Aldis to discuss getting a rematch for the United States Championship, as Damian Priest walked in, looking for Drew McIntyre, who wasn’t there.

Nakamura made a comment to Damian in Japanese, who replied back in Spanish before declaring he wanted a fight. This gave Aldis the idea, and the GM then made the match official for later that night.

Damian Priest vs Shinsuke Nakamura

Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura locked horns after their backstage interaction where the two stars battered each other and when Priest took control of the match he was distracted by Drew McIntyre who popped up at the announce table to watch the match.

McIntyre soon stepped into the ring and ambushed Priest, leading the ref to call off the match, Drew then paused long enough for Nakamura to hit a Kinshasa before leaving the ring as McIntyre continued his attack and landed the Claymore. McIntyre also promised to make Priest’s life a living hell.

Randy Orton vs Carmelo Hayes

Following their backstage interaction where Randy Orton caught Carmelo Hayes talking behind his back, as he was looking for Kevin Owens. However, the interaction gave General Manager Nick Aldis an idea as he set up a match between the two for this week’s episode.

This was vintage Orton who showcased that even after such a long break in action he still was “The Viper”. In the final moments of the match, chants of “RKO” roared in the arena, Hayes countered landed the First 48 and goes for the final blow but “RKO out of nowhere” and Orton pins Hayes in his in-ring return.

After the match, Orton picked up Hayes and offered a handshake to bury the hatchet but Hayes declined and slapped Orton only to eat another RKO. Orton then lined him up for the infamous punt kick but Kevin Owens saved Hayes pulling him out of the ring. Orton gets his hands on Owens who pushed him and runs away.

Jacob Fatu cut a promo backstage where he promised to “dog walk” Braun Strowman when the two run it back next week on SmackDown.

Gunther vs Axiom

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther offered another “kid” from Spain to battle with him, one half of the NXT Tag Champion Axiom makes his way towards the ring, and the match gets underway.

Axiom tries to put up a fight but the Champion showcases brute strength and batters Axiom. In the final moments of the match Gunther lands a vicious powerbomb followed by two massive lariats to pick up the win against Axiom.

After the match, Gunther locked in a sleeper hold on Axiom as security and officials rushed in. The Ring General finally broke the hold and stood tall with the World title before leaving the scene.

Paul Heyman

After returning from commercial, a recap aired of the steel cage match between Seth Rollins and CM Punk from this week’s Monday Night Raw, highlighting the return of Roman Reigns who then decimated both Rollins and Punk.

Back inside the ring, “The Wiseman” Paul Heyman delivered his signature introduction before promising to keep things short and sweet while hyping up two things. First, he declared that today was officially Roman Reigns Day worldwide, marking the release of WWE 2K25.

Heyman then mentioned his friend, the Best in the World, CM Punk, but quickly reminded everyone that it was Roman Reigns Day, not CM Punk Day. Heyman expressed his hatred for Seth Rollins’ entrance song and made it clear that if anyone had an issue with that, or with Reigns being on the cover of the game, they could say it directly to The Tribal Chief next week when he makes his appearance live on SmackDown in Bologna, Italy.

Backstage

The Street Profits were walking for their title clash against the champs DIY when Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobaer, Angel & Berto) approached them, wishing them luck for their match. They added that when the Profits won, Los Garza would be the ones to take the titles off them.

Gunther approached Jimmy Uso, attempting to persuade him to talk some sense into Jey ahead of the World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 41. However, Jimmy shut him down, confidently stating that Gunther would lose both his rank and his title at WrestleMania. Gunther was not impressed as he remarked that he had misjudged Jimmy’s maturity before walking away.

DIY (c) vs Street Profits – WWE Tag Team Championship match

After weeks of confrontations and brawls, WWE Tag Team Champions DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) were set to defend their titles against the Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins). Ford and Dawkins had been attacked in December 2024, just before they were scheduled to face the Motor City Machine Guns for the championship.

Dawkins and Ciampa started the action in the main event, Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince) were backstage keeping a close eye on the match. Despite their attempts, DIY failed to win the challengers as Ford landed a brutal frog splash on Gargano and picked up the win via pinfall to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.
