Several top WWE stars seemingly had backstage heat with Roman Reigns!

Roman Reigns is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of the modern era, who is having a legendary run with WWE.

Reigns has been on WWE television since 2012, making a huge impact on the main roster both as a face and a heel. Roman is a nine-time champion in WWE, with six world championship reigns. He is the 17th Grand Slam champion and has been the default face of the company for almost a decade.

Roman is highly praised for his contributions to the company by many, however, he also got involved in the heat with fellow WWE stars backstage. Here we take a look at five of the WWE superstars who had backstage heat with Roman Reigns.

5. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns have a long history between them in WWE over the years. They have a lot of on-screen matches, however the Survivor Series 2022 WarGames was one of the unforgettable matches. During the match, Owens performed an unplanned slap on Roman, which ruptured his eardrum and bruised his left eye. This made Roman angry and both had a heated argument backstage, however they sorted it out.

4. Enzo Amore

Enzo Amore is one of the controversial WWE superstars, who worked for WWE from 2013 to 2017. Amore got into several controversies with fellow WWE stars backstage, which was one of the reasons for his departure from WWE. During a concert, Amore revealed that once he got in an argument with a bully backstage, which turned physical and Roman kicked him out of the room.

3. Matt Riddle

Matt Riddle is not a new person for the controversies in WWE. Riddle had one such controversy when he claimed that he could easily defeat Roman in a real fight. The comments came to Roman’s ears and he expressed his displeasure about his comments.

After that both crossed each other’s path in a live house show, where Riddle tried to initiate a conversation with Roman, but Roman ignored him. WWE officials found that Roman didn’t want to work with Riddle again and Riddle was kept out from Roman in the building.

2. CM Punk

CM Punk was not a huge fan of Roman since the very beginning. It all started when Punk rejected Roman Reigns first as a member of the shield. Punk’s original choice for Cassius Ohno, but WWE management changed it to Roman Reigns. During the initial years of Roman’s run in WWE, Punk was asked to elevate Roman as the superior member in the Shield, while performing in a match at TLC 2013.

Punk was supposed to elevate him in the following events, however, Punk had some issues with the company and left, making Roman’s task tough. After Punk left the company, Roman struggled for almost half a decade, when the fans rejected him as the face of the company. Punk also took shots at the company, which hindered his career back in the day.

1. Randy Orton

Roman Reigns & Randy Orton worked for a number of matches in the last decade and was a great rival on the screen. Despite the on-screen heat, both had backstage heat back in the day on a couple of occasions.

The first one was in 2013, when Roman was a rookie, where Roman and Randy performed in a live event and both botched their moves, resulting in an argument backstage. The second heated argument between them happened ahead of their SummerSlam match in 2014, after the Shield vs Evolution match. Orton was rumored to sabotage Roman’s growth at that time and it led to an argument between the two.
