[WATCH] WWE stars AJ Styles & Iyo Sky make their entrance at pro-wrestling NOAH

AJ Styles and IYO Sky both won their matches.

In a spectacular match, WWE Superstar AJ Styles faced-off against NOAH legend Naomichi Marufuji in the co-main event of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Destination event at Budokan Hall on Saturday. Styles, a previous regular in Japan with a long history in New Japan Pro Wrestling, triumphantly returned by defeating Marufuji.

The match’s thrilling ending saw Marufuji almost escape the Styles Clash once before being captured and completed on the second try, delivering Styles a hard-fought win.

AJ Styles earlier confirmed his participation in the event in a video message at a NOAH gig in Yokohama last month. His return to Japan represents another milestone in his successful career, which includes signing with WWE in 2016 and winning the IWGP Heavyweight Championship twice.

Styles had recently been in contention for the WWE Championship, but he lost an “I Quit” battle against Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle last month.

IYO Sky showed why she is called the ‘Genius of the Sky’

Former WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY made her long-awaited return to Japan, participating in the co-main event of Marigold Summer Destiny at Sumo Hall.

SKY fought Utami Hayashishita in a dramatic encounter, eventually winning with a tombstone piledriver followed by a moonsault. Following her victory, SKY expressed her appreciation to Hayashishita, WWE, and Marigold, emphasizing the importance of her homecoming.

SKY’s entrance into the arena, accompanied by her WWE theme song and donning a mask reminiscent of her Stardom days, was a sentimental tribute to her supporters and a testament to her continued popularity in Japan. Her bout was part of a historic night that preceded AJ Styles’ match against Marufuji in the double main event of NOAH Destination.

WWE’s engagement with numerous wrestling companies is growing, with IYO SKY and AJ Styles’ matches exemplifying the trend. Additionally, it was confirmed that WWE NXT performers Josh Briggs and Tavion Heights will compete in this year’s N1 Victory tournament, further solidifying the relationship between WWE and Pro Wrestling NOAH.

Sareee won the main event of Marigold Summer Destiny, becoming the first Marigold World Champion after beating Giulia. Giulia, who will soon join WWE, will continue to appear at Marigold events, contributing to the continued fascination in the WWE-global wrestling scene.
