Many WWE superstars have been underutilised despite their huge potential.

The current roster of WWE has some of the most talented and competitive superstars from all around the world.

While many of their potential have been realised, some have been underutilised by the current creative regime.

At the same time, veteran names have also been subjected to questionable booking decisions. Here are the top five WWE superstars who have been held back by the creative regime.

5. Damian Priest

Damian Priest has proven his worth as a captivating and top talent on the WWE roster. Despite winning a World Championship at WrestleMania 40.

Damian Priest has been dropped down to only mid-card feuds since the majority of last year, and has been held back from being the top star he was in 2024.

4. Bayley

Bayley has been a pioneer in leading the Women’s Revolution in WWE. She has brought a huge change in the women’s division.

While her fellow Horsewomen have received major opportunities, Bayley has been subjected to bad creative bookings for a long time in the company, which has caused a huge negative response from her loyal fanbase.

3. Rusev

Rusev has the size, strength, and physical stature to become a top WWE superstar. He once had a roaring popularity in WWE with his ‘Rusev Day’ fanbase.

It was expected that he would receive a major push upon returning to WWE in 2025; however, The Bulgarian Brute has seemingly been lost in the shuffle, aside from a handful of captivating in-ring showdowns.

2. Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn is the epitome of being the ultimate Underdog in WWE, who has a long list of believers. Despite his immense potential and popularity.

He has been positioned to lose all significant matches and has not been booked to become a World Champion yet, being a prime example of being held back by the management.

1. LA Knight

LA Knight is perhaps one of the biggest and most captivating WWE superstars of this generation. His ability to win over the audience, fame, electrifying personality, and in-ring acumen make him the total package of being a main eventer.

Despite that, Triple H and the creative regime have deliberately missed every opportunity to make him a huge attraction in the WWE landscape.

Which of these superstars has been a World Champion before?
