WWE SummerSlam 2024 results: LA Knight wins US title against Logan Paul

LA Knight has been trying for months to have a bout against United States Champion Logan Paul, but The Maverick kept evading The Megastar.

This past Friday, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis officially awarded Knight a bout against Paul at SummerSlam, with one caveat: the champion’s signature.

With Paul’s return to WWE SmackDown, the United States Champion and The Megastar signed a massive SummerSlam contract.

LA Knight is the new WWE United States Champion

The WWE United States Championship match at SummerSlam 2024 between Logan Paul and LA Knight was nothing short of a chaotic, action-packed spectacle. Logan Paul made his entrance with Machine Gun Kelly, who revealed himself after unmasking as a security guard. The duo’s arrogance was palpable, but the drama had just begun.

LA Knight arrived in style, commandeering Paul’s PRIME-branded Hummer and demolishing it, setting the tone for the intense bout to follow. Before the bell even rang, Knight yanked Paul out of the ring, launching a ferocious attack. He rammed Paul into the PRIME hydration station, clashed with Paul’s entourage at ringside, and even endured a mouthful of PRIME spit from Paul, which momentarily shifted the momentum.

Knight’s relentless assault continued as he slammed Paul’s face into the announce desk repeatedly, followed by a brutal backbreaker rack and Argentine neckbreaker on the table. Finally, Knight tossed Paul into the ring to officially start the match, with referee Ryan Tran calling for the bell.

The match began with a bang as Knight attempted a People’s Elbow, only for Paul to counter with his knees up. Paul then capitalized, throwing Knight shoulder-first into the post and following up with a series of powerful moves, including a lariat, big boot, and leg drop, but only managed a near fall.

The back-and-forth action saw Knight hitting a Side Effect and a diving elbow drop from the top rope, nearly securing the victory. Paul, showing his athleticism, countered with a springboard moonsault to the floor, but Knight fought back with a baseball slide and took out Logan’s cronies at ringside.

In a pivotal moment, Machine Gun Kelly handed Paul brass knuckles from his necklace, but Knight managed to block Paul’s Buckshot attempt. The match reached its climax when Knight pulled Paul up the apron, and despite Paul’s attempt at a loaded punch, Knight overpowered him.

LA Knight delivered his finishing move, the BFT, securing the pinfall victory and becoming the new WWE United States Champion. The crowd erupted as Knight celebrated his hard-fought and well-deserved triumph, marking a significant milestone in his career. The match was a testament to Knight’s resilience and tenacity, overcoming both Paul and his entourage to claim the championship.
