WWE Backlash can see top names make their return at the event.
WWE Backlash 2025 will emanate from the city of St. Louis, Missouri. The event will take place at the Enterprise Center this Saturday, May 10. With many top names announced for the show, Backlash is expected to be an impressive PLE for the company.
The WWE regime can add more twists to the event by bringing back some top stars into the mix. These surprise returns can lead to the fans erupting and change the course of WWE. Here are the top five names who can make their return at WWE Backlash.
5. Shinsuke Nakamura
Shinsuke Nakamura missed the entire WrestleMania season after dropping the WWE United States title to LA Knight.
However, the time might have come for the former NXT Champion to be back in the mix by interfering in the US title match scheduled for WWE Backlash and make his claim to a title shot moving forward.
4. Alexa Bliss
The impressive return of Alexa Bliss at the WWE Royal Rumble event this year was suddenly derailed. After competing in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match, Bliss disappeared from WWE television programming.
While she missed WrestleMania 41, the former WWE Women’s Champion could make another huge return at Backlash, but this time, with her old and evil intentions that had been teased for months on SmackDown.
3. The Wyatt Sicks
Should Alexa Bliss make her return at the WWE Backlash Premium Live Event, then a dark force might make its resurgence as well.
That is the Wyatt Sicks faction, which has been absent for many months. Moreover, Bliss had been hinted at joining the stable since returning to SmackDown, and this dark union could finally happen if all of them resurface at once at WWE Backlash.
2. Elijah
TNA star Elijah, popularly known as Elias, made his return to WWE this week after two years. He came back to compete in the 25-man battle royal that took place in WWE NXT to determine the No.1 contender for the NXT championship held by Oba Femi.
With Elijah making a stop in NXT, which garnered huge reactions, he could once again surprise the audience with another appearance at WWE Backlash.
1. Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns was betrayed by his Wiseman, Paul Heyman, at WrestleMania 41. The OTC and CM Punk came on the RAW after WrestleMania to take revenge on him and his new guy, Seth Rollins. Instead, they felt the wrath of Rollins, and another Paul Heyman Guy added to their ranks, Bron Breakker.
While Punk came back on RAW this week, Reigns could also resurface at WWE Backlash to go after their new foes. This could see Punk and Reigns form an unlikely alliance to take down the Paul Heyman Guys and take the feud further.
