The Rock has been all over the headlines after WrestleMania, first for getting real on the Pat McAfee show, and then firing back at Busted Open Radio’s Dave LaGreca. Now, Fightful Select is reporting how the WWE locker room actually feels about everything The Great One has said this week.

First off, a lot of talent pointed out that The Rock wasn’t on TV, and didn’t even show up at WrestleMania.

One wrestler threw some shade, saying Rock didn’t even tweet about the biggest show of the year, but somehow had time to hop on a podcast and air out his grievances about ticket sales and other issues.

During his McAfee interview, Rock admitted his Elimination Chamber appearance was to boost ticket sales and apparently, a few talents backed that up. They said backstage, Rock was definitely seen as a “big boost” for sales.

Before that, creative was told not to plan around him being at Elimination Chamber, and even after he showed up, they were still told not to lean heavily on using him in promos.

One “longtime” talent summed it up perfectly: while the roster loves having Rock around, there’s still that feeling from a top star last year that “the card is at the mercy of Dwayne.” Even they admitted it pulls them in both directions.

Another wrestler believed Rock didn’t want to hijack WrestleMania plans again but maybe didn’t realize how much the story needed him this year. Someone else called it an “overcorrection” after last year’s chaos.

As for the online rumors about heat between The Rock and Triple H? Talents say they haven’t heard anything backstage. Sure, there’s always been a “respectful but sometimes contentious” vibe between them — but no one’s acting like it’s a full-on feud.

In the end, nobody’s super mad about Rock’s absence or his podcast chatter — just kinda scratching their heads. One talent said:

“We all found it kind of weird that he didn’t promote the show at all.”

And after The Rock told Dave LaGreca that everything is a work, including interviews, another wrestler joked:

“What does that mean? Is he working every time he stops by and talks to us backstage, too? Was that McAfee interview a work even though he specified he wasn’t in character?”

WrestleMania season might be over, but the drama? Oh, it’s still cookin’.
