Two of the best wrestlers fought hard at WrestleMania 42
Seth Rollins and GUNTHER delivered a brutal, hard-hitting contest at WWE WrestleMania 42, but the match spiraled into chaos before it even officially began. GUNTHER immediately asserted dominance, planting Rollins with a thunderous powerbomb before the bell.
Rollins responded in kind on the outside, throwing chairs and turning the early moments into a wild brawl. By the time both men finally entered the ring, the tone had already been set; this would be a war of endurance and precision.
Once the bell rang, both competitors wasted no time attempting to end things quickly. GUNTHER looked for his trademark sleeper hold, while Rollins aimed for the stomp, but neither could connect cleanly as each man anticipated the other’s strategy.
Seth Rollins counters as GUNTHER imposes his power
The match evolved into a physical chess game, with Rollins showcasing his adaptability. He cleverly evaded several of GUNTHER’S most dangerous weapons, including the punishing chops that have dismantled countless opponents.
Rollins nearly turned the tide with a pedigree into a stomp combination, but GUNTHER’s resilience was on full display as he kicked out, stunning both Rollins and the crowd. The failure forced Rollins to dig deeper into his arsenal.
Attempting a high-risk maneuver, Rollins went for a flying stomp, only to be caught and locked into the sleeper hold. He fought his way out, countering with a daring top-rope German suplex before applying a sleeper of his own, though GUNTHER managed to reach the ropes.
Interference shifts momentum in decisive moment
With momentum building, Rollins launched into a series of three consecutive dives to the outside. However, the final attempt backfired as GUNTHER caught him mid-air and delivered two crushing powerbombs in succession.
The action spilled toward the announce tables, where GUNTHER looked to inflict further damage. Instead, Rollins countered with a pedigree and followed it up by clearing another desk for a devastating “super stomp,” seemingly putting victory within reach.
Just as Rollins began to celebrate, the match took a shocking turn. Bron Breakker made his return to WWE, charging in with a thunderous spear that dropped Rollins instantly and silenced the crowd.
Breakker rolled Rollins back into the ring, effectively handing GUNTHER the advantage. The Ring General wasted no time, locking in the sleeper hold once again as Rollins struggled to break free.
Despite his efforts, Rollins faded under the pressure and ultimately passed out, giving GUNTHER the victory via submission. It was a controversial ending to an otherwise classic encounter, cementing GUNTHER’s dominance while raising questions about Breakker’s intentions.
Winner: Gunther
