You won’t believe who the oldest & youngest champions in WWE are right now

With 20 active titles currently circulating across WWE’s three major brands, championship gold is more accessible than ever. But that doesn’t mean just anyone gets to hold it. Whether it’s on Raw, SmackDown, or NXT, being a champion still means something, at least most of the time.

Some titles may carry more weight than others, and let’s be honest, some seem to disappear until a Saudi Arabia show calls them back into relevance.

Still, holding gold in WWE is always a nod to how much faith Triple H and the creative team have in a superstar’s ability to perform and connect with the audience.

Among all the current champions in WWE, two stand out based on age alone, one for being a legend of the business still going strong, the other for being a fresh face just beginning to make their mark.

Oldest Champion: John Cena (48 years old)

  • Title: Undisputed WWE Champion
  • Since: April 20, 2025
  • Defeated: Cody Rhodes
  • Event: WrestleMania 41

John Cena shocked the world at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas when he not only turned heel, but also captured his record-breaking 17th world title by defeating Cody Rhodes in the main event of Night Two. With an assist from Travis Scott, Cena did exactly what he promised: he ruined Cody’s story and made history in the process.

At 48 years old, Cena now stands as WWE’s oldest active champion, and his farewell tour just got a whole lot more interesting. There’s speculation about a potential rematch with Rhodes, as well as dream clashes with Randy Orton, CM Punk, and maybe even some of WWE’s younger stars before he walks away at the end of 2025. With the Undisputed Title over his shoulder, Cena is once again the center of WWE’s universe.

Youngest Champion: Sol Ruca (25 years old)

  • Title: NXT Women’s North American Champion
  • Since: April 19, 2025
  • Defeated: N/A (won vacant title)
  • Event: NXT Stand & Deliver

Sol Ruca claimed the vacant NXT Women’s North American Championship at Stand & Deliver in a chaotic ladder match that had fans on the edge of their seats. With Stephanie Vaquer vacating the title after winning the NXT Women’s Championship, the door was wide open—and Sol kicked it down.

The 25-year-old rising star outlasted her tag team partner Zaria, former champ Kelani Jordan, Cora Jade, Lola Vice, and Izzi Dame in a match that was pure mayhem from bell to bell. The victory marks Ruca’s second championship in WWE and could signal the start of a major run on NXT as the brand continues to spotlight its next generation of talent.
