No contract talks between WWE & MJF ahead of AEW contract expiring
Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) is one of the highly successful wrestlers in AEW, who is the youngest, current and longest reigning AEW World Champion. He is a great fan of WWE and its work, and he always expressed his desire to wrestle in WWE even in the air on the rival company.
Earlier this year Fightfull Select reported that WWE is interested in MJF and the company is looking forward to signing a contract after his AEW expires. MJF signed a five-year deal with AEW in January 2019 and his deal is about to expire by January 2024.
Fightful also reported that MJF had casual talks with WWE talents and told them that he is looking to come there in 2024. It was speculated that the bidding war for MJF would be at the peak, when he becomes a free agent.
WWE veteran The Undertaker praised MJF and his works and advised him to leave the second rate company. However an exclusive status of WWE and MJF’s contract talks has been reported which might surprise the wrestling fans.
No contract talks between WWE & MJF
Haus of Wrestling reported that they have learned from WWE’s internal sources that MJF might have quietly re-signed a deal with AEW and one higher official said that there are “zero talks” with him and WWE and his free agent term could possibly be a part of his ongoing storyline stating it as “false narrative”. Sources believe that MJF would have signed a three year deal with the company, which could possibly be until 2027.
A source said, “This is completely in his head storyline,” and another source accepted, “1000%, I was told a while ago he is under a long-term deal, which is why they stopped pushing the 2024 stuff.”
Although being said by WWE sources, there isn't any confirmation from AEW or MJF about whether he resigned AEW contract or not. Do you think MJF will come to WWE upon AEW contract expiring?
