AEW Dynamite emanates this Wednesday from San Diego.

AEW concluded the 2026 edition of Forbidden Door, which was co-produced by NJPW, CMLL, and NJPW’s sister promotion World Wonder Ring Stardom. The PPV saw Mercedes Mone and Will Ospreay win their respective Owen Hart tournament finals.

Meanwhile, AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla, AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, and AEW World Tag Team Champions Cope & Cage retain their respective titles.

On the other hand, Team Briscoe (Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, Konosuke Takeshita, and Darby Allin) defeated Team DCMJF (MJF, Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuchicka Okada, and Andrade El Idolo) by pinfall after Andrade betrayed MJF.

Since Briscoe’s team won, as per the stipulation, he earned an AEW World title match against MJF, and he wasted no time calling for the title shot on the fallout show of Dynamite.

The match was made official for the July 1 show as AEW World Champion MJF defends against Briscoe. The July 1 edition of AEW Dynamite will air live from the Viejas Arena in San Diego, California, and will address the aftermath of the PPV.

Furthermore, the entrants for the vacant TBS title Survival of the Fittest match were finalized on Forbidden Door’s pre-show. Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander, Persephone, Harley Cameron, Queen Aminata, and Maika are now set to battle in the Survival of the Fittest match with the vacant TBS title up for grabs.

Announced for AEW Dynamite (July 1, 2026)

  • MJF (c) vs Mark Briscoe – AEW World title match
  • Hikaru Shida vs Kris Statlander vs Persephone vs Harley Cameron vs Queen Aminata vs Maika – (vacant) TBS Championship Survival of the Fittest match
  • Fallout from Forbidden Door 2026
