MJF is back in AEW
On the most recent edition of AEW Dynamite, MJF made his long-awaited comeback, his first since Double or Nothing. The former world champion targeted AEW continental champion Kazuchika Okada, AEW global champion Swerve Strickland, and international champion Will Ospreay with nasty statements and attacks.
Last week, Swerve Strickland defended the AEW World Championship on Dynamite against Roderick Strong of the Undisputed Kingdom.
The bout highlighted the latest broadcast on the path to Forbidden Door on June 30, which also included MJF’s return to Wednesday evenings and the Blackpool Combat Club’s first full appearance in months.
Let’s see what will happen in the latest week of AEW Dynamite
AEW Dynamite confirmed match card
- AEW International Champion Will Ospreay defends against Rey Fenix.
- TBS Champion Mercedes Mone defends against Zeuxis.
- Chris Jericho’s ‘TV Time’ with guests Private Party.
- RUSH in action.
Will Ospreay vs Rey Fenix – AEW International Champion
Ospreay just signed a deal to become a full-time AEW performer, and he’s been having a great time with the promotion. Aside from having the International Title, he is the top challenger for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.
Meanwhile, Ospreay has an impressive 12-1 record since joining the AEW squad full-time in 2024. His only defeat came in a tag team bout with Orange Cassidy against Trent Beretta and Roderick Strong on the May 22 episode of Dynamite.
Mercedes Mone vs Zeuxis – TBS Champion
Tony Khan has officially announced Mercedes Mone’s TBS Title defense versus Zeuxis, which will take place on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite.
This match-up was scheduled since Zeuxis is Stephanie Vaquer’s CMLL partner. Vaquer is ready to defend her NJPW Strong Women’s Championship against Mone in a title match at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024 pay-per-view event, which will take place on Sunday, June 30 at the UBS Arena in Elmont.
Chris Jericho’s ‘TV Time’ with guests Private Party
The edition of AEW Dynamite airs on June 12 from the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. Aside from Ospreay defending his championship, Chris Jericho will host his chat show, which may feature some hooligans getting into a brawl.
RUSH in action
RUSH has been confirmed for in-ring action on next Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite. His opponent has not yet been named. This comes after RUSH got into a battle with former AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF on last week’s episode.
