The Devil meets God as MJF and Kenny Omega sign on the dotted line in Winnipeg.
The April 1 edition of AEW Dynamite heads to the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and All Elite Wrestling has packed every inch of this card with genuine must-see television. With AEW Dynasty in Vancouver just eleven days away on April 12, the stakes could not be higher.
Last Wednesday in St. Paul, Kenny Omega defeated Swerve Strickland with the One-Winged Angel to become the number one contender for the AEW World Championship.
Later that night, Omega walked straight to MJF, who had just delivered a self-congratulatory promo about surviving “Hangman” Adam Page in their Texas Death Match at AEW Revolution.
Omega declared that if MJF was calling himself The Devil, then The God of Professional Wrestling had arrived to dethrone him. MJF accepted the Dynasty challenge, then spurned a handshake on the way out.
The show ended brutally, with the Don Callis Family, bankrolled by MJF, laying out Darby Allin on the ramp and inside the ring after his no-countout victory over RUSH.
Announced for AEW Dynamite (April 1, 2026)
- MJF vs Kenny Omega – AEW Dynasty Contract Signing
- PAC vs Will Ospreay
- Jungle Jack Perry, Brody King & Kenny Omega vs The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) – Trios Match
- Mina Shirakawa & The Brawling Birds vs Triangle of Madness – Trios Match
MJF vs Kenny Omega: AEW Dynasty Contract Signing
Contract signings in professional wrestling never stay civilised, and MJF has already added a clause that makes this one even more explosive. The AEW World Champion has set a condition: there will be zero physicality at the signing table, or the match at AEW Dynasty is off entirely.
This is vintage MJF manipulation. The Devil is trying to get into Omega’s head before a match has even been made official, knowing that The Cleaner’s intensity could easily boil over.
Last week, MJF fled the ring the moment Omega’s music hit and his face completely changed in an unguarded moment that told the Winnipeg crowd everything they needed to know about who holds the psychological edge heading into Dynasty.
Whether the contract gets signed cleanly or both men end the segment standing over the wreckage of the signing table is the single biggest question of the night.
PAC vs Will Ospreay
This is a match that the AEW faithful has been waiting for since the moment Ospreay stepped back into a ring. Following his return at AEW Revolution and his subsequent challenge to Jon Moxley for Dynasty.
Ospreay cut a promo backstage on last week’s AEW Dynamite where he called out PAC directly, stating he had an issue with him and anyone who surrounds themselves with the Death Riders. He told PAC to meet him in Winnipeg, and now the match is official.
PAC and Ospreay are two of the most technically gifted high-flyers on the planet, and their shared intensity and in-ring intelligence makes this a match that could legitimately steal the entire show at Canada Life Centre.
The Death Riders’ influence hovers over this entire feud, and with Moxley watching from the shadows, anything can happen when these two collide in Winnipeg.
Jungle Jack Perry, Brody King & Kenny Omega vs The Demand
After his win over Swerve Strickland last week, Kenny Omega wasted no time getting back into action. He proposed this trios match himself, teaming with AEW National Champion Jungle Jack Perry and the powerhouse Brody King to take on The Demand.
Ricochet has been vocal in recent weeks about feeling passed over for title opportunities, and this match gives him a direct platform to make his case against the man who just earned the AEW World Title shot.
Jungle Jack Perry carries the AEW National Championship into this bout, adding another layer of prestige to an already high-stakes trios contest.
Perry and King as a unit are one of the most dangerous combinations in the tag division right now, and with Omega alongside them, The Demand faces an enormous mountain to climb in front of a packed Winnipeg crowd.
Mina Shirakawa & The Brawling Birds vs Triangle of Madness
Last week, AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla retained her title over Mina Shirakawa, but only after pulling out a pair of brass knuckles to knock Shirakawa out cold when the referee’s back was turned. The Toxic Spider survived, but she did not do it clean, and the entire women’s division felt the shockwave.
This week, Shirakawa teams with The Brawling Birds to take on the Triangle of Madness, which features Thekla, in a six-woman trios contest that has the potential to further heat up the AEW women’s title picture heading into AEW Dynasty weekend.
Mina enters this match with unfinished business and every reason to make a statement in front of a passionate Canadian crowd.
