This week of AEW Dynamite has some interesting matches
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has recently announced the match card and segment for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. The 12/25 episode of Dynamite will be aired live from Hammerstein Ballroom in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.
Ahead of the Wednesday Night event, let us take a look at the match card and segment for the upcoming 12/25 episode of AEW Dynamite.
AEW Dynamite match card & segments
- Toni Storm vs Taya Valkyrie
- AEW Continental Classic Gold League: Will Ospreay vs Brody King
- AEW Continental Classic Gold League: Ricochet vs Darby Allin
- AEW Continental Classic Blue League: Shelton Benjamin vs Kazuchika Okada
- AEW Continental Classic Blue League: Daniel Garcia vs Kyle Fletcher
- AEW Continental Classic Gold League: Claudio Castagnoli vs Kommander
Toni Storm vs Taya Valkyrie
Toni Storm will make her official debut in the ring on Christmas Day after losing all her memory after losing to Mariah May. She will face Taya Valkyrie on AEW Dynamite on 34th Street.
The fight was announced on Saturday’s broadcast of AEW Collision, following a backstage scene in which Storm introduced herself to Valkyrie and Deonna Purrazzo. The match, however, was quickly finalized, and Valkyrie stated that she would make Storm forget everything.
AEW Continental Classic Gold League
Each outcome in all three gold league fights will be important to the winners, since a four-way tie is possible if Darby Allin defeats Ricochet, Will Ospreay defeats Brody King and Claudio Castagnoli loses against Kommander.
Ricochet, with a slight change to his persona, has showed how (with time) former WWE wrestlers can overcome the initial challenge of transitioning across brands. Ricochet is close to reaching the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Will Ospreay seems to be in a rough patch. After losing what many are calling the best TV match of 2024 on Dynamite, he suffered another defeat against Ricochet on Collision. The Billy GOAT has a point to prove and a reputation to protect.
And then there’s Brody King, who’s fueled by frustration after feeling robbed of several hard-fought wins. His upcoming match promises to be brutal and hard-hitting, perfectly capturing AEW’s philosophy that wins and losses truly matter.
AEW Continental Classic Blue League
Everything is still up for grabs as wrestlers from the Gold and Blue divisions battle for the top two qualifying spots. This year’s execution is amazing, and the intensity and different combinations or ways that wrestlers might advance make it difficult to call.
Wrestlers might advance either by their own initiative and desire or via luck. Nothing is for certain. It is already possible to have a multi-man semi-final, as demonstrated last year. This might be how Mark Briscoe, with nine points, gets through if Daniel Garcia defeats Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada loses or draws with Shelton Benjamin.
The Rainmaker must defeat Benjamin in order to maintain his AEW Continental Championship and become the greatest tournament wrestler of all time. Fletcher just needs one draw to finish at the top of the table. Garcia, the TNT champion, is showing to be a threat in comparison to last year’s event.
However, the two or more that qualify for the semi-finals will not have an easy path when considering who could qualify for the gold league.
