The 02/12 episode of AEW Dynamite is the go-show for AEW Grand Slam Australia
As the Jacksonville-based promotion prepares for the special event, AEW Grand Slam Australia storylines are reaching a boiling point. The feuds will take centre stage on the go-home show of AEW Dynamite which will emanate from H.E.B Center in Austin, Texas.
The promotion has announced multiple matches and segments for the show in Austin. Multiple stars are also slated for an appearance on the show including AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, MJF, Dustin Rhodes and Claudio Castagnoli among others.
However, the promotion will pre-tape the show in Austin, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The February 12th edition of Dynamite will be recorded on Tuesday, February 11, in Austin but will still air at its regular Wednesday night time slot.
The reason behind the early taping is to give AEW talent and crew time to travel to Australia right after the event which is set for February 15 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Boondall, Queensland, Australia.
A total of three matches have been announced for the Wednesday night show where AEW Tag Team Championships The Hurt Syndicate (Shelton Benjamin & Bobby Lashley) will defend the title against The Gunns (Asutin & Colten Gunn).
Former AEW World Champion MJF is set to battle ROH World Tag Team Champion and ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion Dustin Rhodes in a singles match while Max Caster will issue an open challenger.
Furthermore, a trios match for the AEW World Trios Championship match is also announced for the show where Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, PAC % Wheeler Yuta) will defend their titles against the team of Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong.
