Three championship matches set for AEW Dynamite
AEW Dynamite rolls into Cedar Park, Texas, this Wednesday, on January 28, 2026, with momentum firmly on its side and expectations sky-high.
Broadcasting live from the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, this week’s episode has all the ingredients to be one of the strongest Dynamite cards of the year so far, featuring three major AEW championship matches, a marquee singles showdown, and an appearance from the AEW World Champion.
Last week’s Dynamite and Collision episodes laid critical groundwork for what promises to be a dense, storyline-driven night. Tensions between The Conglomeration and the Don Callis Family continued to escalate, with Callis making it clear that reclaiming championship gold remains his top priority.
That agenda now looms large over Cedar Park, as two members of the Don Callis Family challenge for titles on the same night.
At the top of the bill, Kris Statlander defends the AEW Women’s World Championship against Thekla, a challenger who has spent months weaving psychological traps around the champion.
The Toxic Spider’s patience paid off in trios action when she pinned Statlander last week, planting seeds of doubt ahead of their first high-stakes singles encounter. Whether those mind games translate into gold remains the central question.
Meanwhile, AEW TNT Champion Mark Briscoe answers the challenge of the undefeated El Clon, a dangerous and increasingly popular Don Callis Family representative.
Issued two weeks ago on Collision, the challenge was accepted in the spirit of competition, but the political implications at ringside could prove decisive.
The tag division also takes center stage as FTR defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against the powerful pairing of Mark Davis and Jake Doyle, a team still forming its identity but already proving explosively dangerous.
Add Andrade el Idolo vs Swerve Strickland and a scheduled appearance by AEW World Champion MJF, and Dynamite’s Texas return feels essential viewing.
Kenny Omega vs Rocky Romero in singles action is also announced for the show. Meanwhile, AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley will take on Ace Austin in an AEW Continental Championship Elimination match. If Austin beats Moxley or lasts the full time limit, he earns a future Continental title shot.
