The 2024 Forbidden Door is a crossover event between AEW, NJPW and their sister promotions

The 2024 Forbidden Door is the upcoming premium live event co-produced by AEW & NJPW. This is the third AEW Forbidden Door event and is all set to take place on June 30, 2024, from the UBS Arena in the Long Island hamlet of Elmont, New York, United States. The event is known for crossovers across AEW & NJPW and their sister promotions including World Wonder Ring Stardom and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. 

AEW & NJPW has booked several matches for the show with multiple championships of AEW & NJPW on the line. Here is a detailed preview, prediction, news, timings and telecast details of the 2024 AEW Forbidden Door pay-per-view.

AEW Forbidden Door 2024 Preview on the Match card and Predictions

Trios Match- The Learning Tree vs Samoa Joe, Hook & Katsuyori Shibata

Chris Jericho, Big Bill and Bryan Keith of The Learning Tree will face Samoa Joe, Hook and Katsuyori Shibata in a Trios Match. As per speculations, Samoa Joe, Hook and Katsuyori Shibata will defeat The Learning Tree in a close match.

Men’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament First Round- Bryan Danielson vs Shingo Takagi

The second first-round match in the Men’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament between Bryan Danielson & Shingo Takagi will be held at the Forbidden Door event, where the winner will be facing Pac in the Semifinals. As per speculations, Bryan Danielson will defeat Shingo Takagi and will advance to the semifinals.

On the June 19, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite, MJF received a gift card from the Elite, which revealed his opponent for Forbidden Door. MJF of AEW will face Hechicero of Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in a singles match at the AEW Forbidden Door. As per speculations, MJF will defeat Hechicera.

Zack Sabre Jr. vs Orange Cassidy 

Orange Cassidy of AEW will face Zack Sabre Jr. of NJPW for a singles match at the 2024 Forbidden Door. Both have unfinished business since last year’s event and they will settle this year. As per speculations, Sabre Jr. will defeat Orange Cassidy to end the feud.

Mercedes Mone will defend her AEW TBS Championship and Stephanie Vaquer will defend her NJPW Strong Women’s Championship on the line in a Winner Takes All Match. As per speculations, Mone will defeat Stephanie after a tough fight and become the first ever women wrestler to hold both AEW TBS Championship and NJPW Strong Women’s Championship at the same time.

IWGP World Heavyweight Championship- Jon Moxley (C) vs Tetsuya Naito

Jon Moxley will be defending his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Tetsuya Naito in a singles match. As per speculations, Tetsuyo Naito will win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship with the help of Los Ingobernables de Japon.

AEW Women’s World Championship- “Timeless” Toni Storm vs Mina Shirakawa

Toni Storm will be defending her AEW Women’s World Championship against Mina Shirakawa in s singles match. Mariah May will be on the ringside to support both of them. As per speculations, Mariah May could play a bigger role in the match and would likely help Toni Storm to retain her AEW Women’s World title.

AEW TNT Championship Ladder Match- Konosuke Takeshita vs Mark Briscoe vs Jack Perry vs Dante Martin vs Lio Rush vs TBD

After Adam Copeland vacated his AEW TNT Championship, a six-man AEW TNT Championship ladder match was announced for Forbidden Door through qualifying matches. Five of the six participants were declared, including Konosuke Takeshita, Mark Briscoe, Jack Perry, Dante Martin and Lio Rush. As per speculations, Jack Perry will become the AEW TNT Champion with the help of Elite.

Swerve Strickland will be defending his AEW World Championship against the AEW International Champion Will Ospreay in a singles match. As per speculations, Swerve Strickland will defeat Will Ospreay and retain the AEW World Championship.

  • In the United States, Alaska, Hawaii & Puerto Rico the show can be watched live on June 30, 2024, at 7 PM ET, 6 PM CT & 4 PM PT on TBS. 
  • In Canada, AEW Forbidden Door will be aired live on June 30, 2024, at 7 PM ET on TNT via Sling TV and FuboTV. 
  • In the United Kingdom & Ireland, the show will be aired live on July 1, 2024 at 1 AM on ITV4.
  • In India, AEW Forbidden Door will be aired live on July 1, 2024, at 4.30 AM IST from Eurosport & on Discovery+ OTT.
  • In Saudi Arabia, AEW Forbidden Door will be aired live on July 1, 2024, at 3 AM EDT on Shahid. 
  • In Australia, the show will be aired live on July 1, 2024, at 3 AM AEST on ESPN2.
