AEW is all set to debut in Australia with the event
The All Elite Wrestling is packing its bags for the land down under as the promotion is set to debut in Australia with the Grand Slam Australia event. The 2025 event is the fifth Grand Slam event and will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Three of Australia’s top stars Buddy Matthews, Harley Cameron, and Kyle Fletcher will have the chance to claim championship gold on home soil. However, the spotlight is on Timeless Toni Storm who will battle Mariah May.
The event was initially planned to take place at the bigger Suncorp Stadium but was moved to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre due to slower-than-expected ticket sales. Additionally, The event will also be breaking Grand Slam’s tradition of being a September TV special at NYC’s Arthur Ashe Stadium.
A total of five matches has been set for the show in Queensland as Mariah May is set to defend the AEW Women’s World Champion against ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm and AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada will defend the title against Buddy Matthews.
Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega are set to battle The Don Callis Family (Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita) in a tag team match. AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone will set her title on the line against Harley Cameron.
Furthermore, a Brisbane brawl match is also set for the show where Jay White and Cope will lock horns against Death Riders (Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli). The Grand Slam event will immediately air after NBA All-Star Saturday Night.
