AEW heads to Mexico this week
AEW is set to make history once again with its first-ever AEW Grand Slam: Mexico special, airing live from the iconic Arena Mexico in Mexico City on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
The groundbreaking event marks a major international milestone for Tony Khan’s promotion, bringing some of the world’s biggest wrestling stars to the heart of lucha libre’s most sacred ground.
Blending AEW’s top-tier talent with CMLL’s legendary presence, the card promises a night of high-stakes action, emotional storytelling, and global star power.
From the grudge match between Kazuchika Okada and Mark Briscoe, sparked by Okada’s vicious assault on Kenny Omega, to the dream clash between “American Hero” MJF and Mexican sensation Mistico, fans are in for an unforgettable experience.
AEW’s women’s division also makes a powerful statement, as Mercedes Moné challenges Zeuxis for the prestigious CMLL Women’s World Championship.
A spectacular six-man tag team showdown, a chaotic high-flying four-way for 4 million pesos, and a massive 12-man lucha-style main event further highlight the diverse, international flavor of this historic show.
As AEW steps into the hallowed halls of Arena Mexico, expectations are sky-high for one of the most ambitious and culturally significant events in company history.
