The professional wrestling world has been mourning the sudden loss of Benjamin Satterley, better known to fans as PAC in AEW and Neville in WWE. He died on 27th September 2026 when he was only 40 years old. Many people from both within the wrestling world and outside have been paying tributes to him since the day he died.
His wife, Natalie, used Instagram to make a tribute to Benjamin Satterley. In her tribute, she highlighted the bond they shared as friends for 21 years, in love for 19 years, and married for 11 years. The Rock also sent his tributes to Benjamin by sending his condolences to his family and fellow wrestlers. Now, after three weeks, the cause of his death has finally been revealed.

Satterley was found unconscious in a rented vehicle parked at the parking area of a CAVA restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, which is located close to Chicago O’Hare International Airport, on September 27. Emergency services came to the site at around 4 p.m. and soon after announced the man deceased.
As per the incident report, there were no signs of injury or any other suspicious marks on the body of Satterley. At first, the case was not determined for the cause of death, as the officials were awaiting further medical results.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office found out that Satterley died of bronchial asthma. The death of the wrestling star was declared natural, per the New York Post.
The medical examiner’s findings came nearly three weeks after his death, with additional testing required before the cause could be established. Authorities had previously indicated that the circumstances did not appear suspicious.
The revelation brought some clarity to the circumstances surrounding the wrestler’s sudden passing. Satterley was 40 years old and remained active in professional wrestling, having competed at a major AEW event less than 24 hours before he died.

PAC’s final wrestling match was at AEW All Out held on September 26, 2026, at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He faced Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship. Later her even appeared in the main event on the night for a match between Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay.
AEW honored him by dedicating their September 30 edition of Dynamite to him. Other wrestling companies such as WWE honored him too.
