AEW returns to Orlando for its fourth annual October tribute show.
Fresh off AEW All Out 2026 in Chicago, AEW now turns its full attention to WrestleDream, the promotion’s annual October pay-per-view honouring the late Antonio Inoki. The 2026 edition marks the show’s first visit to Florida.
The event will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, marking the venue’s third AEW pay-per-view after Revolution in March 2022 and Worlds End in December 2024.
Thekla earns her shot at Mercedes Moné’s AEW Women’s World Championship

With Mercedes Moné still recovering from the broken nose she suffered in her title-winning match at All In: London, she was unable to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship at All Out. Instead, two former champions, Willow Nightingale and Thekla, collided to determine the number one contender.
The Triangle of Madness’ Skye Blue and Julia Hart inserted themselves into the finish, with Hart’s interference backfiring onto her own stablemate. Thekla capitalised on the chaos, hitting Nightingale with a Curb Stomp to pick up the win and punch her ticket to Orlando.
With the result confirmed, Excalibur announced on commentary that Moné will defend the title against Thekla on October 17 at WrestleDream, setting up a rematch of their heated confrontation from the September 9 “Rebel Heart” Dynamite special.
On the October 3 episode of AEW Collision, it was announced that AEW World Champion Will Ospreay had spoken with Tony Khan about bringing the Clockwork Carnage match format back. Ospreay is now set to defend the World title at AEW WrestleDream.
The bout will feature eight competitors, with two randomly selected wrestlers starting the match and another entrant joining every three minutes until all eight have entered. Before the final wrestler arrives, any competitor who is pinned or forced to submit is eliminated.
Once the eighth wrestler enters, the match moves into a 15-minute scoring period, during which every pinfall or submission earns one fall. When the 15 minutes expire, the wrestler with the most falls will be declared the winner.
But first, Ospreay will defend the title against Kazuchika Okada at Grand Slam: France on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the Adidas Arena in Paris.
On the other hand, the Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) will defend the AEW World Tag Team titles against the Don Callis Family (Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher). Speaking of the Tag titles, The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter) are also set to defend the Women’s World Tag titles.
Meanwhile, Jon Moxley takes on Mark Davis with the AEW Continental title on the line. The AEW World Trios Champion Swerve Strickland and The New Level (Austin Creed & Kofi) will defend the title against Adam Page and Brodido (Brody King & Bandido) in a two out of three falls match.
This article will be updated once more matches are announced for the PPV.
