“The All-Mighty” is All-Elite now

All Elite Wrestling’s business appears to be picking up, with reports indicating that Bobby Lashley has signed with the promotion.

Lashley’s presence in AEW has been anticipated for some time, and the recent debuts of old allies MVP and Shelton Benjamin have further heightened anticipation.

According to Fightful Select, the ‘All Mighty’ has already inked a deal with the promotion, while the three members of the presumed ‘Hurt Syndicate’ signed their contracts’ a number of weeks ago’.

Furthermore, according to the report, Lashley’s AEW debut is ‘imminent’, and it is unclear if he will appear before or at WrestleDream in Tacoma, Washington on October 12. When he makes his debut, it appears that he will face former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland, since MVP and Benjamin had just faced Swerve’s manager Prince Nana.

Lashley, a former WWE, ECW, and TNA World Champion, left WWE for the second time in August 2024, after his contract expired. After leaving WWE, Lashley allegedly sparked a lot of interest in the professional wrestling and MMA realms.

Shelton Benjamin made his AEW debut this week on Dynamite

The October 2, 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite commemorated the show’s fifth anniversary, having debuted in 2019. AEW packed this show with special dream matches like Will Ospreay vs Ricochet for the International Championship and Bryan Danielson vs Kazuchika Okada, memories littered throughout the show reminding everyone of the previous five years, as well as returns, debuts, and some other notable moments on the road to AEW’s next PPV, WrestleDream.

One of the most talked-about aspects of AEW Dynamite’s fifth anniversary was the appearance of Shelton Benjamin. MVP confronted Prince Nana in a backstage session and declared that he does not deal with concerns. He directed Nana’s attention to Shelton Benjamin, the “president” of the complaints department, who received a loud pop as the camera turned to him.

The Hurt Syndicate now has a second official member, and with Bobby Lashley making his debut, it will be interesting to see what AEW has planned for them. MVP also approached TBS Champion Mercedes Moné and gave her a business card earlier in the night.
