Bryan Danielson is one of the best technical wrestlers in the pro wrestling industry!

Bryan Danielson is one of the most talented and extremely popular wrestlers of the modern era. He is known for his time in WWE as Daniel Bryan, where he was the five-time world champion and gained huge popularity and fame. Bryan became extremely popular for his feud with Authority and the ‘Yes movement’.

In 2021, Bryan moved to AEW and has been having a great run with some of the great matches and storylines as a part of the Blackpool Combat Club. Here we take a look at the top five best matches of Bryan Danielson in AEW history.

5. Bryan Danielson vs Eddie Kingston (Rampage 2021)

On the October 27, 2021, episode of AEW Rampage, Bryan Danielson faced Eddie Kingston in the semifinals of the AEW World Championship Eliminator tournament for a future world title shot.

Danielson had the fans by his side and they cheered him right from the start. However, Eddie pushed him to the limit and did not make it easy for Danielson to win the match. In the 16-minute close match showcasing great intensity and techniques, Danielson picked up the win. The match received great reception and almost received a 4.74 star rating.

4. Bryan Danielson vs Ricky Starks (All Out 2023)

Ricky Starks had a feud with Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and called “The Dragon” for a strap match at All Out 2023. While signing the contract, the word Dragon was only mentioned in the contract and “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson signed the contract instead of Steamboat.

At All Out 2023, Starks and Danielson fought in the No Disqualification Strap match and both took it too far with a brutal fight and blood all over the ring. Danielson choked Starks to pass out and won the match, despite interference from Big Bill.

3. Bryan Danielson vs Adam Page (Winter is Coming 2021)

At the 2021 AEW Dynamite Winner is Coming special event, Bryan Danielson challenged “Hangman” Adam Page for the AEW World Championship in a one-hour time limit Iron Man Match. It was slow-paced and a very long match. Page was initially hurt and went for medical assistance for a few minutes.

The match slowly became too brutal with hard hitting and both tore each apart. The final ten minutes peaked up and both went for a near fall, however, both ran out of time for a draw, resulting in Adam Page retaining the AEW World title.

2. Bryan Danielson vs Kenny Omega (Grand Slam 2021)

At the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2021 special event, Bryan Danielson faced Kenny Omega in a 30-minute time-limit non-title match. This was one of the dream matches and the two top stars of the company delivered a picture-perfect match with flawless performance.

Both pulled out some extreme moves from their arsenal, with hard strikes. However the match ran out of time and it ended in a draw, making a statement that both are not lesser men than each other. This match received a 5-star rating and marked the first 5-star match of Danielson’s AEW career.

1. Bryan Danielson vs MJF (Revolution 2023)

At the 2023 Revolution pay-per-view, Bryan Danielson challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship in a 60-minute Iron Man Match. Danielson with the Busaiku Knee scored the first fall (1-0). MJF got mad and hit Danielson with a low blow to end the second fall in a disqualification favoring Danielson (2-0). The low blow made a big impact and it helped MJF to score back-to-back falls to equalize the score (2-2).

MJF then delivered a Heat Seeker to lead the match with (2-3). While MJF was looking to take the match too far from Danielson, he countered with a Buaiku Knee and locked him for a Regal Stretch, forcing him to submit, scoring (3-3).

Both then went for a Sudden Death Overtime, where MJF hit Danielson with the oxygen tank and locked him for a LeBell lock forcing him to tap and win the match by (4-3). Although Bryan Danielson lost the match, this is one of the best matches of Danielson in AEW.
