Mercedes Moné will be having her 1000th career match

After Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite promised to be a night of milestones. Not only was it the 300th installment of All Elite Wrestling’s flagship show, but it also marked the 1000th career match for reigning TBS Champion Mercedes Moné.

Ahead of her historic title defense against Mina Shirakawa, Moné took to social media to celebrate the journey and reflect on some of her favorite bouts from an already legendary career.

Moné, known as “The CEO,” has carved out one of the most impressive resumes in modern wrestling, spanning WWE, NJPW, STARDOM, and now AEW.

As she prepares for yet another high-profile spotlight, she gave fans a rare glimpse into the matches that have defined her personal legacy.

Mercedes Moné on her favorite matches

On X (formerly Twitter), Moné listed several landmark matches that hold a special place in her heart. These included her showdown with Bayley at WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, her WrestleMania 37 main event with Bianca Belair, and the emotionally charged Hell in a Cell 2020 match, also against Bayley.

She also praised her encounters with WWE’s Asuka, calling anything involving the Empress of Tomorrow a personal favorite.

Moné added events like Full Gear, Worlds End, BITV (Battle in the Valley), and AEW Spring Breakthru to her list, noting performances in the iconic Tokyo Dome as particular highlights.

A journey that began in 2008

Mercedes Moné’s journey began in 2008 on the independent circuit with Chaotic Wrestling. By 2012, she signed with WWE, where she quickly rose to prominence as Sasha Banks, becoming a multi-time Women’s Champion and part of several first-ever moments for women in WWE.

Now in AEW, Moné has continued to blaze new trails. She recently won the 2025 Owen Hart Memorial Tournament to secure a shot at AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm at All In: Texas on July 12.

To celebrate the milestone, AEW presented Moné with a cake backstage, commemorating her 1000th match. A classy gesture for a performer who’s given her all to the business.

Mercedes Mone won her 1,000th match, defeating Mina Shirakawa at AEW Dynamite 300. On Wednesday’s event, Mone defended her AEW TBS Championship against Shirakawa in her 1,000th match of her career.

Mone successfully defends her title against Shirakawa. Mone will face Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In: Texas on July 12.
