Bobby Lashley’s actual AEW debut plans are potentially revealed!
Bobby Lashley is one of the most powerful and dominant professional wrestlers, with a giant muscle frame. Lashley has been in the pro wrestling industry since 2005 and is known for his time in WWE and beyond.
Lashley worked for WWE from 2005 to 2008 and from 2018 to the present and held a total of championships in WWE including the two world championships.
In May 2024, WWE reported that Lashley suffered an injury during his training and got written off from the WWE TV. In August 2024 his contract with the Stamford-based company expired and the reports reveal that Lashley signed a contract with AEW. Lashley was expected to be at the AEW WrestleDream 2024, however, only MVP and Shelton Benjamin showed up and not Lashley. Now a backstage report reveals why Lashley didn’t appear on WrestleDream and when his debut will be.
Why has Bobby Lashley not made his AEW debut yet?
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select in a latest report addressed Bobby Lashley’s AEW status. Ross Sapp said that Lashley’s AEW debut was considered for the WrestleDream event, however, it was decided to pull it off due to Strickland’s return. It is said that Lashley’s debut angle was planned to lay Strickland down, however, a back-to-back beatdown on Strickland would have not worked out well and that’s the reason his debut was delayed.
“Bobby Lashley was considered for an AEW debut at AEW WrestleDream, but it was decided against. Considering that the debut would have resulted in Strickland being laid out or attacked, it’s not likely two hometown beatdowns would have worked out well. Lashley’s debut angle was delayed to allow for it to stand out, as AEW felt they had enough big angles at WrestleDream and didn’t want it to be lost in the shuffle.”
Ross Sapp continued saying that Lashley is expected to be on AEW programming in the upcoming weeks, reuniting with MVP and Shelton Benjamin for the Hurt Syndicate. The reports reveal that Lashley hasn’t been backstage on any of the AEW shows before.
“As things stand, Bobby Lashley is expected to appear on AEW programming in the coming weeks, and be aligned with MVP and Shelton Benjamin. Lashley has not been backstage in AEW yet, and he wasn’t at the AEW WrestleDream pay-per view on Saturday.”
