Arduous road ahead for East Bengal
The defending IWL champions have been impressive in the preliminary round, but it might not be a smooth sail for them in the group stage with Asian giants in the race to the knockouts. Their first task in the group stage will be to trump Iran’s Bam Khatoon.
Bam Khatoon are 11-time domestic champions. They also qualified for the quarter-finals in the last season of the AFC Women’s Champions League. Anthony Andrews will want all three points from this game to put the team in a comfortable position.
