IBA Men's World Boxing Championships 2023: Full schedule, fixtures, results, live streaming details
Tokyo Olympian and medalist of the 2019 edition Amit Panghal has failed to qualify.
The IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships 2023 is scheduled to be held from 01 May to 14 May 2023 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Boxers will compete for medals in 13 weight categories, which were approved by IBA (International Amateur Boxing Association) in July 2021. The championships were first held for men in 1974 and since 1989 they are held every odd year. Close to 700 boxers from 100-plus countries are set to take part in the Championships.
Tokyo Olympian and 2019 world medalist, Amit Panghal, has failed to earn a berth for the World Championships. Deepak Bhoria has been selected in the men’s 51 kg with Amit Phangal kept in the reserves list. 2019 Asian championships silver medallist Bhoria has been under the shadow of Amit for the past few years. Deepak showed good signs and performed well in the recently concluded national camp which prompted the selectors to include him in the World Championships squad.
