Sekiro anime will start streaming in January 2027
The official social media account on X has officially confirmed that Sekiro: No Defeat will start streaming in January 2027.
This anime was officially revealed during the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 and was expected to launch in 2026.
The production team, however, chose to follow this idea and, having produced a theatrical version for the Japanese audience, postponed the TV show.
The studio chose not to air the series right away but opted to edit the story into a feature-length film and show the amazing animation to fans first-time in a theater. After the film was well received, it was extended in theatres before moving back to the television format.
Eight episodes with new content
The Producer Tetsushi Suzuki has also confirmed Sekiro anime will offer more than just a split version of the movie. There will be eight episodes.
Fans can also expect additional scenes, extended cuts, and new content that were not part of the theatrical version.
