Indian archers who have medalled in Archery World Cup Final

Deepika Kumari is sole Indian archer to win six medals in the competition.
The Archery World Cup Final is a prestigious competition that annually gathers the world’s top archers, showcasing remarkable precision and skill on a global stage. The event features an elite field of eight competitors, with four earning their spots through triumphs in the World Cup stages and the remaining four securing their places via qualification rankings.
Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) can field a maximum of two archers, and the host nation has the privilege of sending at least one representative, making it a highly competitive event that consistently showcases archery excellence on an international scale, attracting fans and competitors alike.
India has consistently been a force to reckon with at the Archery World Cup Final. With a rich tradition in the sport, Indian archers have repeatedly graced this prestigious stage, demonstrating their exceptional talent and determination. Over the years, Indian archers have secured numerous medals, showcasing their prowess in various categories.

Let us have a look at India’s archers who recorded a podium finish in the World Cup Final:
Dola Banerjee
Dola Banerjee is the first Indian woman who have qualified for Olympic in the individual event on 2004 Athens Olympic. She is also the first ever and the only Indian archery to win the gold medal in the Archery World Cup final. Dola achieved the milestone in the year 2007. The Arjuna awardee also won a gold medal in the World Cup held in Dubai the same year.
Deepika Kumari
Former World No. 1, Deepika Kumari, is the most decorated female recurve archer in the Archery World Cup final. She has won a total of six medals in the event, including five silver medals. She won silver medals in three successive years from 2011 to 2013. The Padma Shri awardee again went on to clinch the silver in the year 2015 at Mexico City. Furthermore, she clinched bronze in the 2018 edition. In the 2024 edition, Kumari won silver in Tlaxcala, Mexico.
Jayanta Talukdar
Jayanta Talukdar is the sole Indian male recurve archer to have medalled in the event. He won a bronze medal in 2010 Edinburgh edition. The experienced Indian archer has won silver at the World Championships in 2005 and is a one-time gold medalist at World Cup held in 2006.
Abhishek Verma
The 2014 Asian Games silver medallist, Abhishek Verma, has won two medals in the event, including one silver and one bronze. The silver came from the 2015 Mexico edition where he lost to the silver medallist of World Youth Championships, Demir Elmaağaçli. He further went onto clinch the bronze medal in the 2018 edition.
Jyothi Surekha Vennam/Abhishek Verma
The eight times World Championships medallist, Jyothi Surekha Vennam along with Arjuna Awardee Abhishek Verma won the silver medal in the compound mixed team in 2018 edition. They lost to the home favourites pair of Demir Elmaağaçlı and Yeşim Bostan to settle for the silver medal.
Prathamesh Samadhan Jawkar
Prathamesh Samadhan Jawkar clinched the silver medal in the 2023 edition under men’s compound. The 17th edition of the Archery World Cup saw the Indian finishing second in the men’s compund archery as Mathias Fullerton secured gold.
