Archery World Cup 2024 Yecheon Stage 2: Full schedule, fixtures, results & live streaming details
Atanu Das continues to wait for his opportunity.
Stage 2 of the Archery World Cup 2024 will be held from May 21 to May 26 in Yecheon, Korea. Indian archers had an impressive performance in Stage 1, securing eight medals—three in the recurve category and five in the compound category, including five gold medals.
In the recurve events, Deepika Kumari clinched the silver medal in the women’s individual event, losing to South Korea’s Lim Sih-yeon in the gold medal match. This marked Deepika’s second consecutive international medal since her return from maternity leave, having previously won gold at the Asia Cup in February. However, she is yet to secure an Olympic quota place for Paris 2024.
The highlight was the men’s recurve team of Tarundeep Rai, Pravin Jadhav and Dhiraj Bommadevara winning the gold medal. They defeated the top-seeded South Korean team 5-1 in the final, securing India’s first men’s recurve team gold at a World Cup event in 14 years. Ankita Bhakat and Bommadevara also contributed a bronze in the mixed recurve team event.
In the non-Olympic compound categories, Indian archers reigned supreme, bagging five medals including four golds. This was India’s best ever medal haul at a single Archery World Cup edition.
