Asian Youth Archery Championships 2024: Updated schedule, fixtures, results, live streaming details

The World Champion Aditi Gopichand Swami is participating at Asian Youth Archery Championships 2024.

After the Olympic Games, the next major archery tournament will be held in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei. The inaugural edition of the Asian Youth Archery Championships will be held from 27 September to 3 October 2024. Taipei City has also hosted the 2017 Universiade and is once again ready to host a big event.

The age-group event has two categories (U18 and U21) and will be played across two disciplines (compound and recurve). The Indian team is sending a 32-member squad for the event. The current world champion in the women’s compound individual Aditi Gopichand Swami is the star attraction at the Asian Youth Archery Championships 2024, as she will be looking to add another title to her kitty.

The other big names from the Indian contingent with some international experience are Kushal Dayal (Men’s U21 Compound), Avneet Kaur (Women’s U21 Compound) and Tisha Punia (Women’s U21 Recurve).

Tisha Punia is the most experienced recurve archer in the team. She has participated in various senior-level competitions. She even participated at the Asian Olympic qualifier where she finished ninth. Her best finish was fourth position at the Asia Cup Leg 1 in Phuket.

Kushal Dayal came into the limelight during the 2021 World Youth Archery Championships in the U18 category, where he won two golds in the men’s and mixed team events. Avneet Kaur is also one name who is consistently participating at the senior level and will look to do well here.

The athletes born after 1 January 2004 are eligible to participate in the U21 category, while the athletes born after 1 January 2007 are eligible to participate in the U18 category. With China and Korea not present, the Indian team will look to dominate the field at the Asian Youth Archery Championships 2024.
