Pro Panja League 2023: Shoukath takes Kochi KD's to table top

In the first match of the day, Niranjan Singh and Sujit Kumar gave Baroda Badshahs an early 2-1 lead over Mumbai Muscle in the undercard. In the main card, Mumbai’s Yuvraj Verma set up the game for his side against Baroda Badshahs with a win in 100+kg bout. In the first round, Yuvraj activated the challenger round and pinned down Sunil Anthony in a matter of seconds. He won the bout by clean sweep to get a 10-0 win. Next up, Baroda’s Sachin Goyal stunned Mumbai’s Sonu Chaurasiya in 80kg bout with a clean sweep to get a 10-0 win.
In the final bout, Arya P pinned Ardhra Suresh in straight rounds, in the 55kg bout to give Baroda a win with a clean sweep to get a 5-0 win. Baroda Badshahs won the match 17-11.
In the second match of the day, Rudra Naik and Prince Dhir won their undercard bouts to give Kochi KD’s 2-1 lead over Rohtak Rowdies. Kochi’s Akash Kumar was up against Rohtak’s Rahul Panicker in the 70kg category bout in the main card. Using his impeccable power, Rahul won the bout in clean sweep and earned a 10-0 win for his team.

Up next, Rohtak’s Mohit Kumar was up against Kochi’s Suraj Salhotra in the 70kg category. With smart wrist movement, Mohit won the bout with a clean sweep and helped earn his team a 5-0 win. In the final bout, Rohtak’s Nikhil Singh faced off against Kochi’s Shoukath VT in the 60kg category.
In the first round, Shoukath stunned Nikhil with his forehand power. A couple of errors by Nikhil helped Shoukath win the second round. Shoukath then activated the challenger round and he pinned down Nikhil in just 2 seconds to win the bout with a clean sweep and get 10-0 a win. Rohtak Rowdies won the match 16-12.
Rohtak Rowdies will take on Baroda Badshahs and Ludhiana Lions will face off against Mumbai Muscle on 6th August 2023, Sunday.
